Re: Have you noticed Roland D50 being so expensive?
Which 4? :) I'm having some trouble getting the sysex transfer on mine so switching out banks is proving to be a massive time waster. It would help to have some narrowing down of good stuff. It was 4 banks that I compiled myself with sysexD50, taking patches from wherever I found good ones and putt...

Re: Have you noticed Roland D50 being so expensive?
Next thing you need to do, is go here, and download the huge archive of soundbanks https://www.cultofd50.org/downloads.htm I remember in 2006 going through all, I mean ALL soundbanks I found on the net. I worked my way down to around 4 banks of favorites  All the hours I will never get back :r...

Re: Martin Lueders PG8X (JX8P soft synth)
Very nice. I dialed in a good sound within 30 seconds added a preset patch and was banging out some 80's in under a minute. Sounds great.

Re: Best synth basslines of all time?
I'm surprised this hasn't been mentioned though it is a sample from Meat Beat Manifesto"s Radio Babylon. First heard this in a club and felt like my head blew out the back and across the wall. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OjQqYFNK50M Other favs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ePIZugahFc As much ...

Re: MFB Dominion 1
I just received mine late this week. I've had really only a few hours with it. So far these are my impressions: The build and the look are great to me, the only thing is the sliders could be stiffer, otherwise it's one of the more solidly built synths that I own. The resonance on this thing is reall...

Re: Alt-J: "Dissolve Me" patch
From the Sound on Sound article: http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/apr13/articles/charlie-andrew.htm "The most synthy we got on that album was a [Roland] Juno 60 for the main hook on 'Dissolve Me' — but that's also mixed in with a steel-drum sample from Gus's Yamaha keyboard. It's all mixed up to make...

Re: Nord Lead 2x Midi Problem
Sorry it has taken so long to get back to you all I appreciate the help. My cat is not doing well and I haven't been in my studio much opting instead to curl up with her since we haven't got a lot of those days left together. (she turns 20 next month) anyway I swapped out the six trak for the nord s...

Re: Nord Lead 2x Midi Problem
IMHO, the Kurz is most likely the cause of grief. One pos/neg of these is the sheer number of things that can send MIDI signals. Example: Each patch can send a set of MIDI controller data when entering and/or leaving that patch. This can jam up the MIDI. Also, check that the Kurz is NOT sending pol...

Re: Nord Lead 2x Midi Problem
One possible cause is that the Nord is receiving CCs it shouldn't be. Try filtering whatever MIDI you send it. You should also connect the 2x directly to your interface, see if that makes a difference. Does the 2x work alone? Does it work plugged directly into another MIDI keyboard, with nothing el...

Re: Nord Lead 2x Midi Problem
Thank you. Right I figure this synth shouldn't be any different than any other with how it receives midi. It is easy enough to dial in what channel I want to use with the 4 slots. The kurz can be problematic at what routings are being used. It's very capable and very flexible so yes one has to be sp...

Nord Lead 2x Midi Problem
I've posted about this else where but thought I might be more likely to find a group of nord users here who could comment on any issues with the NL2X. Its perfectly fine in every way except that it seems to have intermittent midi issues. Because of where I have it located in my studio I do have it c...
