Thanks guys!
When submitting this question my guess was that it had to be the clap, but I guess I just wasn't applying enough FX.
Managed to get something sounding pretty close to it now though
Ok so this has kind of been nagging me for a while... After I loaded in some linndrum samples on my Electribe ESX I found out I had to do "Maniac", of course. Now, I'm probably not asking in the right place, (or the right forum, even!) - so If you guys know about some place else to go for ...
My local instruments shop recently put up a Juno Di synth on display (Yeah, we're a bit behind here in Norway...). I saw the price was quite low, but I also noticed that Roland still seems to be selling the Juno D. So if they're selling both I'm guessing there's gotta be some kind of difference betw...
Wow, Trond! Fancy seeing you here! :D Yeah, well I'm the guy who bought your ol' ESX. Not to worry, though! A friend of mine just recently brought it to a rep shop in Oslo for me. It turned out it was only a faulty power supply :) It's gonna take about 1400 Kr to fix it/get a new one, but since I go...
Well, to tell you the truth I came across those sound libraries at the studio where I worked during the early 90s. There was quite a collection of SFX from the BBC and from other sources on CD, so I expect they´re available online. Since most are now in the public domain, I think it´s safe to try p...
Zoom recently came out with the H1. $99 American. By comparison, a Nagra IV-S was about $5K-$7K (without mics). If you can't scrape up the hundred bucks, well..... Nice, I can probably afford that. But will it be good enough quality-wise? I mean.. I've got this portable voice recorder (olympus vn 6...
Similar....... [bbvideo] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFWgJjKQ2Jo&feature=related[/bbvideo] Wow! Really interesting! Definitely similar to what I'm aspiring to achieve. Thanks for sharing! Sampling thread Yeah, I thought about that, but considering the fact that I'm inquiring about the methods of...
Not exactly synth related, but couldn't think of anywhere else to post this... Every time I listen to tracks like Jarre's Magnetic fields#3 I just want to grab a microphone, go outside and start finding interesting sounds to record. There is, however, something beautiful with the simplicity of the s...
http://rapidshare.com/files/381841127/Samples.zip.html Hey, thanks! That sure is a lot of sounds! And there's even linndrum samples as well! Cool  So I guess all I need to do is to load them onto an SD card and use them to make some nice beats on the esx-1... Thanks a lot guys! Maybe I'll buy ...
I've got a sample set of the DrumTraks, TOM, 606, 808, 909, 505, 707, etc that were under a creative commons license. The 909 set is like 167 different tunings/hits! Sounds nice! I guess those are the kind of samples that you could use with an ESX type of sampler? Then all I would need is some linn...
Hmm, yeah... I think I have come to realize that I am a poor musician that cannot afford everything he wants. Thus, the korg esx alternative seems like the most attractive option. One thing though... Where do I get the samples? I've seen some on ebay, but uhm... You wouldn't happen to know where I'd...
Thanks a lot for the feedback guys! I really liked the hi-energy, punchy feel of the Sequential circuits drumtraks synth! The Boss DR seems a bit too modern and hip-hoppish to me. With a machine like that I believe I'd end up wondering why I can't just program the beats on a sequencer on the compute...
Hello everyone! I'm currently in the market for a drumsynth, but i'm not very particular. All I need is a finger pointing me in a direction as to what I should look for. I would really like to obtain a flexible drumsynth that provides punchy 80s beats. I just thought I'd mention some tracks that I t...
