Re: Akai S5000-Worth Trying to Fix?
If you dont know what you are doing then I would say sell it as parts only and get another as they are still affordable, not worth messing about with unless you have the time on your hands or want to pay at least half its value for a repair. If it has the usb board, 64 note poly board or effects bui...

Flute sound sounds like a Ensoniq ESQ1 at 22 secs.

Re: Why the V-Synth is the best thing Roland ever did
Possibly their best all rounder. I wanted one for the D50 and the possibility of JP8000 type sounds as well as the vocoders. Sound wise, I think the presets are impressive but too many presets are unusable, I'd prefer more bread and butter sounds like the JV/XV range. Not tried the sampling but if i...

Re: Yamaha SY77, I don't know what I am doing...
Some people have all the luck getting bargains like that! I have one and I refuse to use the floppy drive, instead I got hold of FM-Alive and hooked it up via midi to my laptop using an external soundcard or usb to midi cable and that allowed me to copy sounds back and forth to it. Not sure why anyo...

Re: New Jazz Fusion original track
Late feedback, musically good but that drumkit is letting the rest down.

Re: My Original Music Tracks
Nice inoffensive music, has a musical feel to it. I would suggest using soundcloud to host as its far more elegant and you get better interactivity regarding feedback.

Oberheim Opx or the pg8x plugin would get you that sound.

Re: Is it just me or are there others who HATE software..
Not one of us would like to live in a world without the music software available today unless you are a millionaire or plain luddite. There are a few hardware tools that I like to use still BUT overall the software blows 80% of the hardware out of the window that I once relied on. No way would I go ...

Re: cz3000
Anyone know if there is an editor for the cz5000 for windows? I am currently stuck with the presets which are the worst I've ever heard on a synth.
thanks

Closer to the real thing than the Jx8p emulator (pg8x)?

I'd say that some of the patches sound even better than the real thing when the chorus is on.

Sonic Projects OP-X has some Jupiter 8 sounds I believe. Also, U-he Ace can do some of the sounds pretty closely.

Re: xiosynth25 vs. alpha juno 2
I've seen a few Xio demos on youtube but the sound quality hasn't been great so its hard to judge. It really depends on the type of music you want to make. The Xio has a wider pallette of sounds from what I can hear and the built in controllers and arps and effects. The Juno doesn't have those extra...
