Re: Upgrade my Mopho or Buy a cheap prophet 08?

I was in the same situation contemplating the Prophet 08 myself. I have a Mopho SE which has keys and tons of knobs though. I decided to poly chain a tetra to it because I needed the sub oscs. That was the main the reason I bought it. If you need the sub oscs, I would definitely get the Mopho X4 and...

Re: Alesis Ion - Dead "Voices"?

I guess it could be the DSP chips, but they way they are failing makes me think it may not be that. I had a problem a while back with my Virus Indigo where the voices were acting funny too. It turned out to be a faulty ribbon cable, but the problem was exactly like you are describing. I guess worst ...

Re: Wavestation Hardware vs. Wavestation Software Synths

I've used both software and hardware and i'm telling you that the software version is just another sound. It's not worth it. The hardware always sounds more musical, real and luxurious! The software does give people an option who can't afford the hardware or simply don't have the space. I've used t...

Re: Looking for synth recommendations

Hello everyone ;) I am looking for recommendations for a synthesizer for myself. Some of the specs/features I would like to have are: - full sized keyboard, at least 49 keys - polyphony, at least 10 voices - I would prefer analog, but digital is also fine - price up to $1000 - I am looking for more...

Re: The Future (?) of Access Virus

One thing that has me worried about the future of Access is the fact that their website has been virtually quiet for like 4 years. I hope this isn't any indicator that things are not going well. I love their stuff. I have a TI2 and an Indigo 1 and love them. I would hate to see them go away.

Re: Any advice please.

I think the Alesis Ion/Microns are the best sounding VAs I've ever owned. They definitely sound closer to analog than anything else I've owned (besides my actual analog gear ;) ). The Ion did have some problems with main outputs volume being kind of low if I remember correctly. Correct me if I'm wro...

Looking good! I know the feeling. I have a DSI Mopho, and I hated the knobs on that too. I ended up putting Prophet knobs on it I liked it much better

Re: Genelec 1029s Studio Monitors

Assuming the FOH person can be trusted to do the job... if they can't, get someone else. A keyboard amp won't solve that problem! Oh so true! Also, I contacted GIK Acoustics last night and gave them the layout of my room, along with pictures, and they gave me some really great recommendations about...

Re: Genelec 1029s Studio Monitors

what kind of speakers do you use when playing with your band? studio monitors/.? When we play live, I usually use whatever the venue has. I had some Mackie Thump-12 PAs to practice with as well. With bass traps in the corners and absorbers at mirror points, you'd have a much better idea of the diff...
