Re: Squarepusher "string" pads on Hard Normal Daddy

Likely, they were samples on his s950. He prolly sampled records or his 101 or got samples from aphex or someone else and played them polyphonically on his s950. AMAZING that he programmed those early albums on a boss 660. I picked up a 660 a few years ago for pennies just to see what that would ent...

Re: Roland tr09 reasons to be cheerful

Hey princefan3, I don't wanna usurp the thread, but what other equipment do you use to replicate early chicago house? Also, what period do you consider early chicago house? Just curious, cheers! I'm a big Detroit Inner City fan, etc. I am also on my second TR8....hated it the first time....convinced...

Re: MIDI Sequencer for Hardware Only Set up

I am DAW-less and own a Roland MC80, Yammy QY700, and an Atari ST. Currently, the QY700 and Atari are boxed up but ready in case I want a change of pace. Pros and cons: I truly cant recommend the atari....it has serious novelty and cool factor but troubleshooting TOS is downright painful. It also ta...

Re: Elektron hinting at something new

Honestly, I'd love to have a standalone step sequencer for midi with p-locks, cv integration, etc. no audio generated. Something to rival the cirkulon but in the $300 range? I can dream....

Re: Yamaha RCM (SY/TG series) synths

I owned the SY22 and SY35 for 7-8 years. I purchased both exclusively for the "moby strings", which they deliver on. Honestly, the 22 and 35 are weak synths. You can get some cool pads but seriously I wouldn't bother. They are painful to program unless you are using a cpu editor. The vector joystick...

Re: Atari ST Midi signal to midi splitter

Thanks, Max. You be dead-on. I contacted Midi Solutions to see if they had encountered users with ST's.

Its just too bad the Steinberg Midix's are so rare.....I love Cubase and don't want to switch to Notator and use the Unitor.

Re: Atari ST Midi signal to midi splitter

Thanks, Max. That's helpful info.

I want to use it with this:
http://www.midisolutions.com/prodqth.htm

The midi solutions splitters requires the incoming midi signal (from the Atari) to power the splitter. For these splitters to work, it requires a +5V signal from the midi out.

Atari ST Midi signal to midi splitter

Hey everybody,

Does anyone know if the Atari ST sends a "powered" midi signal from its dedicated Midi Out?

I want to connect my ST to a Midi Solutions splitter but that requires the ST to send a "powered" signal.

Thanks!

Re: New stuff from Roland!

If you scroll down to the English comments on the FB link, he mentions it will be 500 euros and has a USB to bus sound into the DAW.
