Re: Possible synth find...Wish me luck.

The notion that this could constitute any kind of theft of fraud is absurd. The pastor has internet access I'm sure. He could find out in seconds precisely what the keyboards are worth on the open market. If he lets 'em go cheap, more power to the OP.

Keep us informed!

Re: Yamaha QY 100 and 70

I loved my QY70 and kind of miss it. I recorded most of an album (of really, really short songs) on it. It's a little hard to wrap your brain around at first but once you do it's a joy to compose with...a terrific little audio sketchbook. The XG soundset is of course very limited, but you can really...

Re: Blofeld as companion to JP-8080?

Actually, what I ended up doing is getting a DX200. Saw on on eBay, buy it now, and jumped. The Blofeld will remain on the wanted list...but if anything is the opposite of a VA, it must be the DX200.

Re: Blofeld as companion to JP-8080?

Sounds like memory cords is saying the upgrade just allows user waveforms, not proper samples. I suppose I am after a colder, more metallic sound--the kind of thing you can't get with the JP. I'll have to go listen to some demos of the blofeld and see if it fits the bill...thanks for the description!

Blofeld as companion to JP-8080?

I'm just curious if the Blofeld makes a good partner to the JP-8080--I assume the two sound quite different? And what is the current status of the Blofeld--is its current OS and memory upgrade a good value? I'm also curious if the user-waveform option is only useful for wavetable use, or if it effec...

Re: VZ-10M tips

polardark, thanks a lot--no, I don't have it yet, maybe the battery's in good shape. I just assumed it would need replacing, from my experience with other eighties synths...SQ80, Juno-60, etc. projectwoofer, I would love to program it, but...I'm still kind of surprised there isn't an inexpensive hal...

VZ-10M tips

Hello all. I am not quite new here, as I had an account years ago, posted a lot, then abandoned it. But I recently got re-interested in hardware synths, finally getting myself a JP-8080 to complement my small modular system, and this has given me the synth bug again, I guess. I bid, almost at random...
