Re: Korg Minilogue Polyphonic Analog Synth
I'm curious how the f**k seemingly hundreds of people got the Minilogue before it was ever announced....and why they are on some special list. There are tons of demo videos on youtube already. Just find it strange, and wish I would've been in on the secret. it leaked a week before NAMM and it went ...

Re: Dave Smith price drops
I got an email from JRR Shop advertising price drops on some DSI synths: Prophet 08 keys and module, Pro 12 desktop 8-) Evolver, Tetra and all flavors of Mopho. I checked online and saw American Musical Supply and Sweetwater show price drops but not as far as JRR Shop. JRR's email said it was a lim...

Re: Roland Boutique
Aha, probably just some triggerhappy online stores that have set a date to get the orders in first, then. Not Roland's fault. Yup, cast your line, reel them in and earn wads of interest on all the payments received until orders are fulfilled.... What? Cynical? Me? No, never! ;) I realize it's not R...

Re: Roland Boutique
I think Roland is suspicious of how well this 'revival' gear would really sell, or if we're just a small vocal group - hence why it's a limited run and all that. Limited edition inexpensive revival gear has sold well for Korg and Arturia, why not get on the gravy train? I really don't buy this "tes...

Re: Roland Boutique
To me it's clear that if this sells well they'll produce more expensive and fledged out gear. I totally disagree. Usually synth technology goes in the opposite direction, start with a flagship and then if it's successful trickle down to the low end. Roland introduced their Supernatural tech in the ...

Re: Roland Boutique
If they didn't sound like the originals (which is why they have the high quality modeling), what would be the point? You say that like it's a given that using legacy branding means accurate recreation is necessarily "the point". " Using Roland's acclaimed Analog Circuit Behavior (ACB) technology th...

Re: Roland Boutique
It's more that it's interesting that the priority is ostensibly high quality modelling, given the price, and assuming they are not artificially limiting them, rather than impressive polyphony. Ten years is a long time in DSP and the Creamware boxes (for e.g.) were doing 12 voices. At a higher price...

Re: Roland Boutique
Sheesh, I'm surprised by all the hate. Did you really think Roland would do something analog poly in a box so tiny? Do you really think they'll want to do custom IC's again, suddenly, for this? ICs are expensive to develop. Without custom ICs, the most you could fit in that box would be one voice, a...

This guy had it about right in April... if we're to believe him, they're analog modeling.
I'm ok with this though, the TR-8 sounds great, and the SH-101 plug out is on point as well.

Re: Synth Spa- Haven't seen my 106 in almost a year...
I guess I have a final update for you all-- I did get my 106 back! It came back in the mail around 4 weeks ago. Yes, it was a long wait, but it's a damn beauty now, and it sounds fantastic. Allen is the real deal, but just insanely busy-- there are a lot of broken junos out there I guess. http://i.i...

Anyone know the voltage and polarity of a garfield nano doc?
Just got one of these off of ebay to sync with a linndrum. Unfortunately, the seller didn't mention that it doesn't come with a power supply. Does anyone know what the voltage is for the PSU, and if it's center pin negative? Google looks like it gives me 9 volts or 4 volts, center pin negative but i...
