Re: warped tape, or the sound of melt

snazzy fx wow n flutter does exactly this. Zvex now makes an instant lofi junky, which pushes your sound through a filter/compressor/ vibrato combo.

Re: External Effects

if your trying to just kinda beef up the sound, fatter, more analogish, etc.. Maybe try an eh big muff and small stone phaser. Used those are dirt cheap and sound great on synths. In general if your considering add pedals to your rig you should own those. Don't over look those behringer vintage peda...

Re: something new from OTO...

denis was trying to implement a playable synth into the biscuit for the next OS upgrade. That should be shortly according to his forums. I'm guessing this might be an extension of that idea. Sort of a quasi synth/ super biscuit combo.

Re: Noise, Drone.

you need the evolver! first as a sound engine its darn near a self contained modular if that makes any sense. also it can process sound like your blofeld! or kraftwerg! i owned one and only sold it after a decision to abandon midi. i still miss it. its way to versitile, especially in a compact set-u...

Re: On-the-fly Phrase Sampling/Looping

electrix repeater what your looking for. just make sure you get the 512mb cards for it. eats memory for breakfast. insanely awesome for capturing live loops, overdubbing, and whatnot.

Re: Aggressive synths?

on the cheap and very aggressive, i found the yamaha dx200 to be both. my vostok is pretty nasty. evolver and future retro xs are very arggo as well.

Re: stone age methods today

that video's funny. i'd swear it was from the 80's if not for the little phatty and the nwa shirt from the album "n****" . unfortunately throbbing gristle and wolf eyes kinda beat to the punch for banging on s**t with a delay pedal. she's cuter than anyone in either one of those gnarly bands though....
