Re: Why is nobody talking about the M-audio venom yet?

Sounds pretty neat from the demos I've heard. At this price point there is no way you can get a synth with a one knob per function, so I'd like to see how efficient the UI is. It is a little surprising that they only got 12 voices of polyphony, considering the GAIA is also sampled and has 64 voices ...

Re: Something with a tune

This is great. It doesn't sound like it`s been made from soft-synths. I prefer shorter songs. Eight and half of the same thematic material gets repetitive. I think a bass part would be cool. Something buzzy, to act as a contrast against the mellow brassy pads. When I listen to this song I imagine a ...

Someone in Seattle could be lucky to get a VFX (even if non-functional) for $15. It's funny, I live only about 60 miles away but my passport expired and I don't want to go through the hassle of a border crossing.

My Matrix 6R is behaving weirdly

So I've had a Matrix 6 Rack since July. For the first four months, up until about two weeks ago, it worked just perfectly. No glitches, stutters, or problems of any sort. Then the problem appeared. The synth starts randomly 'flickering' on and off while I'm playing it. It's as if the power switch is...

Re: Elevazion

Criminal Minds: Tom's don't mix well with the synth in the opening. Orchestra hits are poorly placed/don't fit in the first half of the song (last minute is okay). Good bassline. Could use a bit more variety. Your singing isn't terrible, but it sounds monotone. It needs more emotion. Your production...

Re: Polymoog - timebomb or worth it?

I'd say go for it, although it's best if you could probably inspect it as thoroughly as possible beforehand. If it works well enough, buy it. Besides, if it starts acting funny you could always sell it on ebay. It I think it would probably sell for more than that price, even if not 100% functional. ...

Re: Tips plz

I own a Matrix-6. AFAIK, you could split an identical patch over the keyboard and then route it through the outputs. I don't see why you couldn't try this method, although I haven't tried it myself. As for the OP: I have yet to hear a Oberheim OB-Xa or other well-known polysynth in person, so I don'...

Re: Realistic Concertmate Moog MG-1

330 Dollars is a good price for a Realistic MG-1. Most go for between 250 and 500 on eBay, as I've lately been watching pretty much every single analog synth for the past month. A good vintage monosynth.

Would have no idea about fixing it though, I've touched a solder maybe once, twice in my life.

Re: "No, I don't know what you're talkin' about"

I don't like how the synth lead has the exact same rhythm as the kick in the beginning. Similar thing happens at around 1:36. From about 0:33 or so (the chorus?), it sounds great. Really dig that detuned sound. Overall, the song is good although I think you could probably add some additional layers ...

Dead Yamaha TX7

So I recently got a free TX7 as a tie-in with a keyboard purchase. It worked fine when I tested it at the previous owner's house. He said that the factory patches were wiped and he didn't know how to edit the thing. At the time I could get a clear sine wave from the amp that he had it plugged into....

Well a CS-80 for £2400... either a joke/timewaster post... or SOME F***ING LUCKY SOB IS WALKING AROUND WITH A MIDIFIED CS-80 for 3600!

This seems almost surreal, especially after the last cs-80 sold for £10,000 on eBay.
