Re: so who's shelled out for an iPad?

I have an iPod with Morphwiz, Filtatron, Bebot, and various other music apps on it right now :P I'm not shelling out for an iPad though.

Re: What are you buying yourself for Christmas ?

Playing an SH-201, I really enjoyed it and I thought the SH-01 would be nice. But I'm refraining this year, I have plenty to work with.

I am getting a new amp though. Playing with a drummer through a 15 watt amp isn't very fun.

Monotron? :P

Re: USB synths?

May be wrong, but does the Microkorg XL have USB? If so, I think that might be a decent synth for you.

Yeah, I was about to say, if you really work with it, Audacity could probably fit that purpose.

Re: Moog Filtatron

honestly I think its worth it just to get iRig to skip all the hassle of trying to figure it out and having a botched together cable. its designed specifically for the task of getting audio in and its probably going to cost you nearly, if not just as much to get a cable which you'd be hacking up to...

I'm pretty sure he's referring to the original V-Synth and not the V-Synth GT. (http://www.musicgoround.com/detail.aspx?id=996637)

Re: Yamaha DX7 vs. Yamaha DX11

Well I currently love the c**p out of my DX11 at the moment and it's been great as a first synth, and learning how to use it was pretty cool. Thanks for the input!

I'm going to assume either a Polymoog or a Jupiter-8, because those are the two synths you have on your blog.

Re: Yamaha DX7 vs. DX11 Key Action

The DX11 can transmit on multiple MIDI channels, the full 16, I believe (I could be wrong, I'd have to check mine). As for the action, I'm fairly happy with the keybed in mine.
