Re: PG-1000 or new PC to run D-50 editor?
I've got a Roland PG-1000 for sale here, if you're interested. I would much rather sell it along with a few other items as a package deal, and not necessarily the Roland D-550, but I could be coaxed in to selling it alone if you want to make me a good offer.

Re: HOw you know aftertouch on JX8p/10p work?
Aftertouch on the JX-8P / JX-10 / MKS-70 can be routed to vibrato or filter resonance. If it's the only thing routed to either one of these parameters it's an effect that is very easy to recognize as working properly.

Re: What is the value of a Korg PolySix - like New Condition
Maybe this hasn't been made clear enough in this post: if your PolySix has the original battery and you don't replace ASAP it start leaking battery acid all over its inside, reducing its value to about $50.

Re: Kiwi Technics Universal Sound Editor
I've got one (#2, actually). It works well, and the creator is incredibly helpful -- in fact he's taken a serious look at adding support for a number of synths at my request. He's looking in to giving it support of software and other hardware through a software interface. I'm very happy with mine.

Re: Sound Design
@ Shreddie : Thanks for the link regarding sampling techniques. There's a guide here regarding techniques for creating sound effects. While a lot of the techniques have very little musical use, if any at all, there are a few techniques that could be adapted for musical purposes with interesting resu...

Reaktor
I'm finally up and running with Reaktor, so my question for the forum is: what are some good resources for learning how to properly use Reaktor, and what are some ensembles in the Reaktor online archive I should check out?
Any and all help is appreciated

Re: Analogue Solutions Vostok mk-1
If I were in your shoes, and I had no major financial responsibilities, I'd buy it just to develop a good rapport with him. Don't haggle with him about the price, but when you pick it up talk to him as much as you can about how you're interested in buying some of the more vintage or rare gear he's g...

Re: DCB to Midi : Roland MD-8
The MSQ-700 won't work for your pusposes. You can only use the DCB or MIDI inputs separately on it, in other words using the DCB port disables the MIDI ports and vice a versa. Its only use is as a hardware sequencer.

Sound Design
People often ask how Aphex Twin or Boards of Canada achieved certain sounds, or how acts like Squarepusher can quickly and efficiently compose complex drum and bass. The idea here is not to ask questions such as these, but rather to share interesting sound design techniques within this thread in the...

Re: Is anyone else having issues with Native Instruments' sa
Ha ha, yeah, I mean customer service . I work in an office environment that is heavily centered around public relations during the day, and was at the time I typed that message, so I guess I just had it on my mind. I didn't even think about how the excessive downloading of multi-gigabyte software as...

Is anyone else having issues with Native Instruments' sale?
I'm really just typing this to get my frustrations off of my chest, but in the off chance anyone can offer any help or insight it would be appreciated. Like many of you, I decided to take advantage of the recent 50% of sale held by Native Instruments. I placed an order for two items, entered in my c...

Re: First time synth buyer seeks an advice from you...
I'm in Russia, if that helps. I visited the websites for a few synthesizer manufacturers and compiled a list of instrument dealers in Russia from their dealers links. I haven't learned to read Russian as of yet, so I don't know if I've got the names right for any of these websites, and I don't know...

If I were in your shoes, for about $1,300 I would get the following things: 1. M-Audio Keystation 88es : $219.95 : It doesn't produce sound on its own, but it can be connected to sound modules by MIDI to produce sound or it can be connected to your computer by USB for similar purposes as well. 2. Sy...

Re: Name that soft-sequencer!
The "structure" tab is a dead give-away. It's Cubase on the Atari ST . I learned how to use synthesizers with this sequencer. It's cumbersome, but effective. The Atari ST had dedicated MIDI ports, which many claim provides better MIDI timing over a great deal of today's computer-MIDI solutions. The ...
