Re: The Shamen gearlist?

I love the Shamen. Some of my favorites were Oxygen Restriction, Re: Evolution, Boss Drum, that one tune with South African Bishop Desmond Tutu doing vocals (ah I forget the name... Hear Me?), Boss Dub, Fat Man, Hyperreal Selector (remix by Jack Dangers!). Good times. Even their album covers were ex...

Re: Pros / Cons of Effects Processors

I'd say that software has only recently started to catch up with hardware in terms of widespread quality. Everyone else probably covered all the reasons for and against hardware or software; so I won't repeat those reasons. All I can say is that I started out 100% hardware, went to a hybrid setup, a...

Re: What was the cheapest Synth you ever bought?

Korg DW-8000 - $50 The main output was broken and just produced noisey distorted junk, but I was able to open it up and bypass part of the output and get a clean audio signal so it was cool! I installed a new jack and it worked well enough. Unfortunately, the power supply died and I couldn't get goo...

Re: Hiding Wires and Cables

It wouldn't cost much to have an electrician put in grounded outlets. I did it myself and I'm not an electrician, but I don't recommend people do it themselves, since a person could die if they make a mistake or if someone turns on the power while they are working. But grounding can save people's li...

Re: i know you hate behringer...

Well, I may have replied to this thread already but I can't remember for sure. But I have two Behringer FBQ800's, those little stereo EQ's. Each one was about 50 bucks. What I have to say about them now that some time has passed: PROs The sound is crystal clear and they are so simple to use. CONs Th...

Re: Harmor-What are your thoughts on it?

I spent the last couple of days really digging into the Harmor demo interface and studying some tutorial/demo videos. Then I saw there is a sale on Harmor at 50% to the first 999 people before the end of Jan 2012 so I went ahead and got it. I had some trouble with my bank accepting the purchase from...

Re: Your Rig---but 20 Years Ago

Wow, back in 1992 I still hadn't bought much yet. I got going in 93 mainly. But what I was messing around with back then: Apple Mac SE (system 6.5.5) with HyperCard and some audio playback XCMD's and XFCN's. SoundEdit 1.0 (bootleg copy)... 11 kHz 8 bit, 4 mono track mixer, pitch bending, reverb, etc...

Where are Korg DW-8000 OSC Waveforms?

Where can I get Korg DW-8000 dry and unfiltered oscillator waveforms?

I am interested in getting them in WAV, FLAC, or AIFF format to use as single-cycle waveforms in software.
I used to own a DW-8000 and the sixteen oscillator waveforms were a nice versatile combination.

Any ideas?

Harmor-What are your thoughts on it?

So I've been playing with the demo of Harmor. I like the sounds but I'm kind of stumped on the interface. What do you guys think about it? Are there some good tutorial videos you'd recommend for it? Any overall tips on how to best use it?

Re: Axiom 25 Help

I think it should work fine. By the way, is it a first, second, or third generation Axiom? If you have trouble with it, try quitting the programs, plugging in to a different USB port and restarting the programs. Also be sure to check out the M-Audio Community Forums for help. But people here can hel...

Re: What's the best ogg encoder?

OGG encoders are a lot more simple to configure than MP3 encoders so there's not nearly as much to worry about. I'd ask at Hydrogen Audio forums... http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php And here's another useful link: http://www.rarewares.org/ogg.php I forget which one, but one or more of th...

Re: U-He DIVA

I've never been much of a fan of U-he's stuff at all. I never got into Ace or Zebra, and never understood what everybody was going on about. This comment sums up our differences of opinion. I happen to like the sounds of Zebra and Zebralette a lot and find them to be very innovative and even exciti...

Re: U-He DIVA

Ned, I'm not trying to argue with you. Just bear in mind that U-He is a business, and yes business involves marketing and when the hype outshines the product, it's my inclination to give credit to the the marketing aspect. U-he is not making these synths for free. And I'm not criticising his interne...
