I checked that, but I'll check again. I'm going over everything again this evening. Thanks for all the help everyone. Much appreciated.

Re: Roland Juno 2 Power On Failure

Hello! Thanks for the replies. I believe it is the Transformer. It doesn't look blown, but I think it is. I have replaced the fuse, power supply board, on/off switch, and have checked continuity on the main PCB board and fuse board which is attached to the power switch and cord. What sits in between...

Re: Roland Juno 2 Power On Failure

I think I'm going to need a new switch. That could be the problem. The plugs are very loose on the back of the switch which are soldered to the two wires. They wiggle. On my working Juno-2, both the wires and switch are solid. There is no play at all. I don't know, the wiring just looks shoddy to me...

Re: Roland Juno 2 Power On Failure

Hello! Thanks for the reply. I dug out my other Roland Alpha Juno 2 which is working 100%. I removed the power supply board and swapped it with the one in the non-working Juno-2. It still wouldn't power on which eliminates the power supply board as being the problem. I also put the power supply boar...

Roland Juno 2 Power On Failure

Hi everyone, I started a new topic on this as the other one by a different person "Roland Juno 2 Won't Power On" has been solved. I believe my problem is different. I basically have a Roland Juno-2 that has never been opened. I open a lot of synths and I can tell I'm the first one to crack it open. ...

Re: Roland Alpha Juno 2 won't power on...

The power issue I posted months ago I had previously with my Alpha Juno 2 was due to the board being wobbly and missing screws to stabilize it. So my question is, where can I find replacement screws?
I see in another thread you posted this. Thanks!

Re: Roland Alpha Juno 2 won't power on...

Hello! This is an old thread, but I'm curious about what the problem was with your Juno 2. Was a part replaced? Was something loose and needed soldering? Did something die out? I'm seeing more Juno 2's with power no issues. I'm reluctant to buy without some sort of idea about other's past experience...

Re: Building a sequence in Director-S! (Video)

Get a handful of terrific sounds on the S-50/S-330 and along with a handy monitor likes yours you can create some fantastic sequences using the Director-S software. Sure there are limitations but it's just so much fun creating things on these Roland S-series samplers. Great job here!! Thanks for the...

Re: Here is the Fairlight IIx library, straight from floppy!

I used CMIOS9, which now has source code available. It can batch convert CMI samples to WAV, again without loop points, but at least you get the correct sample name and duration all in one go, and you don't have to deal with file headers as audio. I also left them as 8 bit because Kontakt can handl...

Re: Going to Japan, recommend me a store to buy synths

Hi there, I've been in Japan for over 18 years now and I can fill you in on some of my experiences. Tokyo will likely have everything you have ever dreamed of finding even the Jupiter 8 for example, BUT, you will be dealing with shops and people who know their stuff and will likely have used market ...

Roland S-50 Static Output

I have a question about a newly acquired Roland S-50 Sampler that I got for free from a used shop here in Japan. Everything works on it perfectly except there is an issue that I can't isolate so I'm thinking of replacing the boards inside but I'm not sure which one yet. If I could just replace one a...

Re: Juno 106?

Just got my board back from Allen @ The Synth Spa on Ebay. He did a lot of Trace repair, Voice Chip repair, and likely other stuff on my Juno 106 Voice Chip board. It took three months but it was ABSOLUTELY worth it. My Juno 106 sounds incredible. Definitely check out the Synth Spa. I seriously didn...

Re: Which Roland S sampler??

I have the Roland S-330, W-30, and S-760. I use them all quite a bit with the Roland W-30 getting used the most. Recently I hooked up the HxC Floppy Disk Emulator to the S-330 and W-30. They both boot up nicely now and can swap floppy images easily. It makes the S-330/W-30 a bit easier to work with ...
