Re: Most popular synth between VSE members??

I don't get the thread. Is it what's the most commonly owned synth between members/in general or what's everyone's favorite synth? Yeah, I'm wondering about the same. If the most commonly owned synth is the case (as the thread name suggests it), I'd say it is a MicroKorg - everyone in here has or -...

Re: Please Convince Me I Don't Need An Alesis Ion

I know a guy, who tried to convince himself he doesn't need an Ion, just like you are trying to convince yourself. And he almost did it, but yet after a while he ended up with 2 Ion's, one Micron and a Miniak. So beware xD

Re: Grooveboxes: Roland MC505/Korg EMX-1/Yamaha RM1x

Been a month since this topic was posted in, so I don't know if you're still debating on this. If not, what did you end up going with? I just have to stick up for the MC-307 as I feel it gets a bad rap. :P It was my first real piece of hardware when it first came out and it's been great for me over...

Re: Open source / freeware PC sequencer that can run VSTs?

The VST Host for Buzz, Polac VST (PVST) is one of the best hosts out there.. not to mention we're talkin a modular host here ;] It supports every VST feature under the sun.. Someone mentioned something about Automation... eh, VST Automation in Buzz is cake: http://vimeo.com/1675783 As for it's UI,....

Re: How often have you accidentally erased a "good" program

I've lost a few sounds over the time due to my own sheer stupidity. Most recently, my laptop went down - hard drive got dead - and I've lost a year worth of programming in patches for Reason. Apparently computers and apple juice do not mix that well. Over 300 programs, some of which were actually re...

Re: Open source / freeware PC sequencer that can run VSTs?

Horrible interface though  and it crashes like a b***h... After resurecting the developement of Buzz in 2008, Oskari put a lot of his coding to get rid of all the glitches and crashes. Buzz nowadays is much more stable than it used to be before. But still, it's not perfect. Buzz is completely...

Re: Open source / freeware PC sequencer that can run VSTs?

If you're fine with instead of using VST's, using buzz machines. Jeskola buzz is VERY powerful. fairly impenetrable interface though http://www.buzzmachines.com/ (deadmau5's, kick comes from an FM buzz generator ;) ) Actually, you can host VST/VSTi's (and DX/DXi's as far as i remember)in Buzz prett...

Sound problem with Reason.

Yeah, I know it's not a Reason forum, but I've tried that already, so I'm asking here. Often, (basicaly almost always) when I reopen any of already existing projects, the overal sound is low-passed. Just like it would be put trough a filter. Not much, but enough to notice, especially on the drums. W...

Re: Akai's s900 or s2000

I think Ensoniq's might be more expensive thou in Poland then here in the states were they were made. Actually, there's an eps16 keybord for $300, so it's like a week of limited cigarettes consumption for me (1 pack per day instead of 2...) + price of s900/s2000. I'll concder it for my second sample...

Is it *that* bad really? After additional research and your replies here I was fairly decided to get s900/950 anyways, but that seems to be a deal breaker...

Re: Akai's s900 or s2000

i didn't go for the s2000 because of the display, it's so small! i would go for the s900 or maybe a mpc500. same small display but at least in the s900 you have sound character. the big advantage of the mpc500 is that it can communicate without any frills with modern computer. with the s900 you wil...

Re: Akai's s900 or s2000

Oh, I found an E-mu ESI 4000 for the same prise as both AKAIs. By the description it seems that E-mu could be s2000 replacement, but still it lacks few features. Yet I heard a lot of good things about these samplers. s**t, this is going to be a hard decision  Just when I finaly thought I decide...
