Re: Arturia Beatstep - First impressions...

This seemed cool at first, but for some reason I didn't process that the knobs are encoders and there's no visual feedback at all. Eh, that sucks.

Re: Moog Sub 37

Haha I missed automatic gainsay with the vengeful paraphony rebuttal. I mean, s**t dawg, that's basically how everybody defines it in synths. The wikipedia article on paraphony (albeit a paragraph long and with no sources) says that and so does basically everything else on the internet, and Moog did...

Re: To the person who snapped up the Jupiter 8 for 3500

I'm so good at finding bargains that people pay me money to take their analog synths.

Re: Moog Sub 37, finaly a new poliphonic Moog?

That's "polyphonic" in the classical music sense. "Polyphonic" when referring to synthesizers means each voice runs through a separate envelope and filter, instead of sharing one. Both of these voices have the ability to have independent pitches but share the same envelope/filter, so it is paraphonic.

Re: Just played with a Novation BS2...

It's really a rad synth. If Novation puts out an update so you can adjust keytracking I think there won't be too much to complain about.

Re: Just played with a Novation BS2...

Since there is a bit of misinformation going on here, I just got a BSII in the mail on Monday and I'd thought I'd clarify about the key tracking on the filter: - Key Tracking on the filter seems to permanently be set at 100%; i.e. the higher the MIDI note you play or send it the more the filter cuto...

Re: David Sancious's comment on vintage gear (keyboard mag)

It's interesting that it was mentioned that he part of the E Street Band, because I worked as a stage hand a few years ago to load-in/load-out a Bruce Springsteen concert, and the keyboard player at that time was using a Hammond B-3 with a Leslie, a grand piano, and a Yamaha DX-7, which would contra...

Re: Korg MS-20 Mini

Monotron for 50 bucks is cheap, MS-20 Mini for 600 bucks I would not say is exactly "cheap". Maybe comparatively affordable.
