Re: Synthstrom Deluge

My goodness people. The groovebox to kill all other grooveboxes is almost done being made. Anyone else around here using the Deluge these days? Bumping this old thread because the Deluge has been here for awhile now and it's pretty amazing! :) You don't hear a lot about it and I think that's a sham...

Spectralis owners, 2016 just might be the year!

Didn't see this posted here yet and I don't know that there are still that many people still using the Spectralis, but Jorg made an interesting post over on the RT forum: Sat Oct 24, 2015 3:04 pm Jörg Schaaf wrote: 1.) We will never make the Spectralis an open source project. 2.) You should not sell...

Re: Rumor: New ACB(?) Roland sampler coming to NAMM 2016

FWIW, I always thought the SU-700 was one of the better sounding samplers out there. A very clean sound, yes, but it has a certain warmth about it. If anything, I can't see sticking resources into creating emulations of 3 different Roland SP samplers. Nothing terribly interesting about their raw sou...

Re: Which drum machine, if any at all?

There are definitely times when I wish I could have kept both because, between the two of them, they cover just about anything you could need. But, like yourself, I also figured it would be a good idea to keep my wife around. :) For me, the Spectralis kind of became my go-to sampler once the Rytm le...

Re: Which drum machine, if any at all?

What are the sampling capabilities of the Tempest in comparison? The more I watch and read about both, the more I want both, but I'm pretty sure my wife would leave me  User sampling on the Tempest is non-existent. It has a collection of around 400 factory samples that can not be changed. Some...

Re: Which drum machine, if any at all?

The Tempest is great. I had it and the Rytm side by side for a month or so and the Tempest is the one I kept. Still have it and, in fact, sold off a bunch of other stuff because of just how useful I find it. BUT that was mainly due to the fact that I wanted crazy, wacked out percussion, big booming ...

Re: Roland Mc909 Question , please help !

I don't have mine anymore so I can't check on about the duplicate pattern thing. But as to the question about the RAM memory, it does have to load up from the Smartmedia card on every boot. Nothing is retained when it is shut off. Usually doesn't take too long but really bogs down if you have, say, ...

Re: Volca Sample MIDI

I don't think so. Well, playing chromatically, I'll give you that one. But the Volca Beats at least lets you play all of the different sounds on one midi channel so it doesn't seem a stretch to think that the Sample would do the same.

Re: Volca Sample MIDI

I haven't used one but I asked this very question in a couple of groups and that is where my information comes from: Apparently, Korg really dropped the ball on this. It doesn't allow you to play samples chromatically nor does it allow you to play them as a drum kit on one midi channel. Each sample ...

Re: Synthesizers on Kids TV

Yo Gabba Gabba is synth crazy - . Yes! I remember one episode where they kept cutting to a shot of the orange dude with a bunch of old Roland machines. There was a CR78, 606 and even an 808 if I remember. And they always have bands on that are heavy on synthesizers. Chromeo doing a track with a tal...

Re: Avalon Bassline: A new 303 variant DELUXE!

Ah, I just read a bit more about the filter cardtridges on their website. Ok, this thing will be pretty awesome if they can stay at $1000 or lower and if the carts don't cost too much.

Much more than a 303 clone, it would seem.

Re: Avalon Bassline: A new 303 variant DELUXE!

I can't believe there are still people building new 303 type synths. I mean, I think it's awesome, but I thought it's been pretty much nailed between the xoxbox and tt-303. All that being said, I can't help but think how cool it would be to have this new Avalon box alongside the 777. I would think t...

Re: UPDATE: eBay Buyer from h**l!

Read through your thread and all I can say is wow, what a nightmare. I had a similar case recently but I won't even go into it or else I'll get worked up and ruin my whole night, no joke. All I have to say is that it is completely f**k that sellers no longer even have the option of leaving negative ...
