Re: On-the-fly Phrase Sampling/Looping

What do you think about the loopers like Jamman? Ok it is more used by guitarists but it loops sounds like want.

Re: What about the Roland S330?

Hi all. OK here are the good news. I returned back the sampler to the seller, which definitely doesn't know how to use it, so he can't be sure that the sampler worked before I bought it. Now I have just bought another TX16W, without any memory extension this time. But it works completely. No crunch ...

Re: What about the Roland S330?

A friend of mine said the same thing, madtheory.

In all cases, the seller is OK to take back the sampler this evening. I will then buy another TX16W soon. This story is not ended yet.

Re: What about the Roland S330?

Hi thanks you all. Yes, I have checked the Mic/line button. I have loaded some voices/samples from the Typhoon disk. But sending midi notes do not produce sound either. So the sample input level is max, there is no sound coming out, can't test Midi connections of the device... This is not really goo...

Re: What about the Roland S330?

I think that my sampler is broken. I was not able to test it at the seller's home. I read the Typhoon manual. When I try to to sample, the input level monitor is at the maximum (all the squares of the level display are black) although nothing is plugged yet in the sampler input. When sampling no sou...

Re: What about the Roland S330?

Hi, I have finally bought a tx16w and got it today. The seller gives me tons of floppies, including Atari ST games!!! But most of the floppies are now unreadable by the sampler. I have to read the user guide of Typhoom 2000 to understand how to sample and play. So impatient to hear it's sound.

My vote goes to Emax, too!
I think everybody is agree to say that Emax is better, but it is just by 4 the price of the Tx16W.

I think I will buy the Tx16W this week. I can find two currently sold at 100€. One has extended memory, the other no.

Re: List of demos of vintage samplers

Hi, I have to look at all these videos. What would be a cool thing is that a sound file would be taken as a reference and uploaded here. Then it would be played by each of these samplers owned by this forum's users, and then recorded back as MP3/OGG/FLAC files. I'm sure that all samplers are owned b...

Re: What about the Roland S330?

Yes, I was afraid of the original OS of the TX16W. Didn't know about the Typhoon 2000 OS. I should look at it.

Re: What about the Roland S330?

VST vs hardware... I'm not sure. Your Mopho or a Moog sound surely better than any VST, aren't they? But it is true that VST are more confortable to work with.

But I have to think about it.

Re: What about the Roland S330?

One sampler is not like another sampler. I use Ableton Live and sample sounds, make rythmes with the Live's drums. But these drums are too clean. It is hard to make them sound lo-fi and still great. I try to resample my drum parts at 22Khz, record them with a cassette tape recorder, and record the t...

What about the Roland S330?

Hello, I'm looking for an alternative of the 12-bit samplers (Akai S samplers, SP1200, Emax, EPS, ...). I read about the Roland S330. It is cheaper than the other samplers. What do you think about its sound? Can I make good lo-fi drums and loops? I'm afraid that the sounds are too 80's, like what I ...
