Re: Gear Trading Thread

Looking for: Sequential Circuits Prophet 600 -Working, semi-working, or busted; doesn't matter to me! For Trade: Akai MPC2000XL and/or Alesis Micron -The MPC2000XL works perfectly, and has been pretty well looked after for being 14 years old. It has had the memory expanded to 32MB, and the floppy d...

Re: A few Akai AX60 questions.

I believe the keybed is the same as a poly61; the AX-60 keybed parts I've seen online were identical to the the ones out of my buddy's Poly61.

I can't comment on the EProm

Re: Should I buy a synth with a key out?

I re-did all the keys on my JX-3P last week actually. The JX-3P is built like a tank, and it's probably a build up of dirt that's causing the contact to not trigger properly. I just fixed three dead keys on my own JX-3P, and here's how I did it: 1) Phillips screw driver 2) Pencil eraser (to clean up...

Re: Dead JX-3P

So here's a couple videos of it, and surprisingly it decided to play nice once! First time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hprJFCokkjE (All you need to see is the first 30 seconds of this video) After that, I switched it off, then booted it up again and got this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L84iL...

Re: Dead JX-3P

Maybe you should stop playing God over that particular unit, and let it rest in peace... I would tend to put such a dead unit on my wall, like a valuable frame. That would make a nice decoration! [Seriously] It's more in good fun then anything - I've got the stuff laying around to try and fix it, s...

Re: Dead JX-3P - Anybody have parts????

Hey guys, I've made some head-way since my initial post. Wires have been soldered (but not by me) from contact to contact on what seems to be every broken lead - I've checked current flow and they all check out. I "re-mounted" the volume pot, and ran new leads, but still nothing. Personally, I belie...

Dead JX-3P

Hey guys, I recently bought a JX-3P that's in need of some help. I purchased it in a non-working state, but quickly diagnosed the power switch to be at fault, followed by some questionable work on the PSU; nothing a new switch and some quick soldering wouldn't fix though. So now the unit powers up (...

D-110 / PG-10 Midi Question

Hey guys, I've recently come into the world of synthesizers, traditionally trained on the piano/saxophone, so I've got a question or two regarding MIDI. With that said, I've recently acquired two Roland D-110s, a PG-10 programmer, and a bunch of midi cables. I've got the manuals kicking around here,...
