Re: Digital Rackmount Synth with Analog Sound/Modelling?

Novation KS Rack would be your best bet. 5U of controls for the Liquid Analog sound, 16 voices, four parts, and external audio processing. Usually well under a grand. Novation Supernova or Supernova II are also very good, starting at 20 or 24 voices and expandable to 44 or 48, and eight parts, with ...

Re: Is it worth 300€ for Roland Alpha Juno 2?

Welcome aboard Placid. Personally I think that the juno alpha series is one of the most underrated vintage synths. If you are into acid, it could imitate successfully the sound of the TB 303 and the SH 101 . $300 is a good price, but i would not recommend it as a beginners synth, its editing is ted...

Re: Overrated

I'll wait months for a special price to come along. I got a Prophecy for $220, and it only needed some padding on the aftertouch strip to make it work better. Z1 for $550, when they're going for $1000. I don't mind buying broken or malfunctioning gear, as long as it doesn't require looking for irrep...

Re: Your latest musical purchase

This isn't *my* latest purchase... or my parents latest purchase... but this is the most significant thing I own... Because of the search I had to go through to find this... and I can't thank my parents enough for helping me get this... <3 https://scontent-syd2-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/23376616_1015...

Why is FM suspicious? Unless it stands for Prof. Fred Moriarty.

Korg Z1 for a good price. Got two 4MB ATA cards for $32, too. Saving for a car, but... eh, that can wait. :ugeek:

Re: Setting up my V-Synth GT with a DAW.

I tried the V-Synth GT USB route a long time ago. The driver does not work with Windows 10. There is a USB driver for OS X 10.8, and as mentioned Windows 8. That's as far as it goes.

Overrated

The Ensoniq Fizmo has gotten near $2500 on eBay. Two of 'em. Fizmo has become as overrated as the Alesis Andromeda. Anyone else have any peeves that they would like to own if the prices weren't pegging on the insanity meter? I wouldn't mind having both of these but I prefer food and electricity on a...

That first link at 10:40? All I heard was a little comb filter and some woman breathing heavily. Whatchou talkin' 'bout, Willis? Anyway, you want spaceship sound? I was able to reproduce the sound of the Red Lectroid service pod from the end portion of The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai &c., in about...

Ensoniq EPS and ASR sample into transwaves. TS can load transwaves from them.

Waldorf Nave can convert any wave file into a wavetable and use it as an oscillator.

Re: Korg M3: most beautiful synth in the world?

The Viruses are particularly handsome, but the most beautiful synth in my eyes is the Hartmann Neuron. However, if you are speaking of devices, any device, which synthesizes sounds, the Kolner Dom organ in Cologne has to be the most beautiful synthesizer in the world.

Re: Casio FZ-1 Crackly Sound

.... The problem does seem to be presenting evenly on each of the 8 individual outputs, but the individual outputs are sort of strange. They only make sound every 8 times I play a key. I don't know if this is by design or not. Also, I can't get a cable into the second or third outputs. Really weird...
