Re: Thinning the herd...should I sell Juno-60 and DMX?
I honestly prefer the alphas to the 106 and 60. I get bored with the 60 rather quickly, where the alpha has a more versatile palette. So it doesn't have that nice filter, but that's what the 101 is for.

Re: Martin Lueders PG8X (JX8P soft synth)
This is indeed a great plugin, especially for free. My hardware is starting to collect dust these days because now I have half a dozen plugins that sound near identical to the real thing, it's just so much more sreamlined. I really like the new look of the interface on this one as well.

Re: What's your favorite synthesis method--
I used the dx7 book because I had a hard time finding useful curriculum on fm synthes. Only a few "how to make this one sound" videos and a couple half assed articles on it. I know I'm probably missing some good online resources out there, but I couldn't find them. The fm 8 is my favorite fm instrum...

Subtractive for the most part, although I'm getting more and more into FM and find it far more interesting. ... I might not be able to build a sound from scratch yet, but I'm finding it just as exciting as when I first got into analog synths so many years ago. Keep sticking with it! There is a book...

Re: MicroBrute - How awesome is it?
If you don't want the oscilators or filter to distort, leave all your osc levels at the 12 o'clock position and the filter will be clean and juicy sounding.
I love my micro.

Re: New Elka Synthex?
Some patent-holding j**k will probably clamp down on their Curtis chip recreations and demand so much in "royalties" that the project will die before it even started. Remember what happened to ARP when they cloned the Moog ladder filter back in the 70s? As far as I know, patents for Curtis chips ex...

According to that link, you need an ssl to make it to number 1 in the UK. So in the U.S., maybe you need an American made console like an api. Seems legit.

Re: This is the kind of eqiupment I'm going to need to make.
Stab makes a valid point.
Also, you need a SERIOUS power source to make truly pumping tracks. If you can route 1.21 gigawatts of power to your gear, your flux capacitor will start pulsing at which point you'll need to hit at least 88 miles per hour. That's when you'll hear some serious s**t.

What kind of instrument cables are you using? No serious producers pay less than 400 dollars for their diamond conductor audio cables. Dat diamond mojo cuts through the mix like you wouldn't believe!

Re: I'm looking for a professional producer to improve my so
http://starcadian.bandcamp.com/album/sunset-blood I talked to this guy personally. This whole record was made on a laptop with ableton with a large chunk of the sounds coming from stock ableton plugs including all the vocoder stuff. He used a very basic audio interface to record the guitar stuff. A...

I think this thread should get locked. The guy is an obvious troll and he's received plenty of good advice to disregard. There is no reasoning with this person.

My brother sent his 106 in and it took FOREVER to get back. Wouldn't respond to his message until my brother threatened legal action for theft essentially since he was basically squatting on his item after he asked for it back even if it wasn't worked on yet. Then magically, it arrived to his doorst...
