sh-101 lfo/clock rate issue

So the lfo/lock rate on my 101 is not working properly. From about about 0-75% of the slider, it stays as a super fast rate, and then the last 25% it's even faster (the led is solid color). It makes it totally unsable. I'm not sure of the normal range of the lfo so I don't know if the fader is just ...

Re: jx-3p + not what to do when buying a jx-3p

So i decided to pull this out and see what I deduce. I found some info where people had similar issues with dead keys in uniform patterns across the keyboard and had fixed this by checking the traces on the keyboard itself and repairing those. I went through with a multimeter and I couldn't find any...

Re: so Juno 60's are about £1000 now? what the h**l?!

Personally, I think a lot of those simple architecture vintage synths still represent OK value. Synths like ax-60/80, jx-3p, sixtrak etc even more so. You're still getting a - in most cases- well built, analog polyphonic synth. Compared to a tb-303 or any number of other vintage items, I don't think...

Re: keyboard sampler

Also, the disk access is agonizingly slow, unless you have one of the rare-ish upgrades for SCSI capability. The loading times on my mpc60 are so slow, I sometimes wonder if there's something wrong with it. You know it's bad when you have to leave the room and do some errands while it loads. It act...

Re: keyboard sampler

Have you used one? If so, how did you like it, especially the keyboard?

They do look pretty huge. I owned a dw-8000 briefly and found the keyboard to be one of the worst I'd ever used for my tastes.

Re: keyboard sampler

Oh ok. I don't know why I thought it did. At any rate, the analog filters aren't a deal breaker. I think one of the casio keybaords had them, the fz-1? Going to have to look into that..

keyboard sampler

Does a keyboard sampler exist with the following features: Full size keys with decent playing action Upgradable disk system (preferably cf) Multiple outputs analog filters I was looking at the eps 16+ (with output expander), though I hear the keyboard is similar to that on the sq-80 (not esq-1) and ...

Re: François de Roubaix equipment?

Those little creatures/animals/children are somewhat disturbing.

Anyhow, he's using a synthi in his studio here:

Could be that. Sounds like it could be something moog to me also.

Re: Name this digital synth

I would guess a sample time stretched also. I'm listening on floor speakers across the room, but it sounds like it has some ambiance to it. Could be hard to find if that's the case. I've been listening to dean blunt recently, I really like the collaborations with female vocalists like on the narciss...

Re: Which Synth Had The Worst User Interface Ever?

I have to agree that the cz-101 is just really uninviting. Yes that structure and layout is quite good but those up/down arrow keys...horrid. At least the dx7 has a slider.

Re: jx-3p + not what to do when buying a jx-3p

Thanks for the all info guys. Gonna hold out until I have some decent desoldering equipment. I'm fairly confident (based on nothing ;) ) that I'll be able to fix the keybaord issues. As mentioned all keys work via midi so that narrows it down. I was also able to clarify the problem with one of the v...

Re: jx-3p + not what to do when buying a jx-3p

I haven't touched the 3p in a while besides the occasional plug in to jam on the few keys that work and give it a dust. I ran the problems by the closest tech who said repairs would probably run at least $400. What would be the next best tool besides an expensive desoldering station? I only have one...

Re: jx-3p + not what to do when buying a jx-3p

Thanks for the all replies. If you need to desolder chips, get yourself a desoldering station. s. I don't really have the $ for a proper setup right now. It looks amazing though. All I have is one of those cheapo hand suction ones. . Can you store sounds OK? . Yep, patch storage seems fine. I'll rep...

Re: jx-3p + not what to do when buying a jx-3p

Without removing any components I cleaned away the residue on the main board. It came off easily and didn't appear to have corroded anything. There still some gunk under the chips and between the legs, so it's not really conclusive. At any rate, this had no effect. Same issues with dead keys. I test...
