Re: What synthesizer are these?
I probably should mention that, yes, it was a Korg 01/W making that sound for "Something Bad", it's called the "Tonebender".

Re: OH SHERRIE Synthesizer
I emailed Bill Cuomo awhile back. He stated that the Oh Sherrie synth was the Prophet VS. He stated it was "the same one I used on Whitesnake's Here I Go Again and I still use it today". 9 years later. lol. STILL, thanks a lot for the information. Still my favorite synth sounds. I'm sure he meant t...

The question is was it played in real time, or was trigger by the KR-55 drum machine?

Re: "Lucky Star" Bass-line
I was referring the album version, sorry I didn't specify. I find the Shep Pettibone remix to be quite boring... I believe that the Like a Prayer bassline in its original version is doubled between a real bassist (Randy Jackson, as you mentioned) and a synth bassline. The real bass comes doubled fr...

Re: "Lucky Star" Bass-line
Great info. Thanks Phillip. Never thought it could be a 2600. Since we're talking about her, does anybody know what synth was used for the bassline in "Like a Prayer"? Depends on which version you're talking about. Album/Music Video Version: Randy Jackson is playing bass Shep Pettibone Remix: Minim...

Yes. I was referring to the OP's post about the bass line.Carey M wrote:Wasn't it a 2600 for the bass? And Prophet-5 for other synths..?bigman2005 wrote: It's a ARP 2500, not a mini moog that you hear on both "Lucky Star" and "Borderline". I know this because I have the multi tracks.

Re: "Lucky Star" Bass-line
What synth was used for the bass-line in Madonna's "Lucky Star?" They used Minimoog for all the synth bass on Madonna's first album. They used a Moog Source live only because it has patch memory which is more feasible in live situations. It's a ARP 2500, not a mini moog that you hear on both "Lucky...

The Kinks-Come Dancing, Synth?
What is the calliope-like synth that is being used on "Come Dancing" by The Kinks. I'm leaning towards the CS-80, but I'm not sure.

Is there any I can find out when my DX7 was made according to the serial number? My number is 96555, so I would guess around '85-86.

Re: What synthesizer are these?
My guess - the Long Arm and Something Bad sound like a Yamaha FM synth to me. The Moon and Traverse songs sound like Romplers for the majority of it, possibly layered with FM synth/s. Are you sure "Something Bad" sounds like a Yamaha synth? Because Warren was using a Korg O1/W during that time. Sor...
