Expanding Doepfer Basic System 2

i've had it a good while, and delighted with it, but I was wanting to expand it with some new modules. My goal is to make a serious drone machine. I was looking at the xpander filter (106-6), sequencer (155), another vco (110), wave multipler (137), and the vc crossfader (134-2) This is my system at...

Expanding the Dark Energy

I purchased the Dark Energy a couple months ago and really enjoying it. I've recently added the Dark Time sequencer to it as well. I'm looking to expand it into a mini modular setup, but with so many options, and also my lack of knowledge with regard to the modular world, has left me a bit frustrate...

Re: Dsi Tetra & Dsi Mopho

I know what what your say saying, psy, but to be honest, the jx-3p and jx-8p are different beasts. I've listened to both, and feel confidant that the 8p will be a good acquisition. Thanks for your input.

Re: Dsi Tetra & Dsi Mopho

Congrats on the jx, psy. I recently had a jx-3p, but sold it. It was good, but it never stood out. Is the pg programmer essential for the jx-8p? How is it in terms of pads, warmth, analogue, strings etc???

Re: Dsi Tetra & Dsi Mopho

Thanks for the advice. It seems that the acquisition of the two would be pretty stupid, but I was also thinking of picking up the evolver, instead of the mopho. I've always liked like the possibilities of the evolver. I am looking for a polysynth, too, so that's why I was looking at the tetra. I'm b...

Dsi Tetra & Dsi Mopho

Looking to invest in the two units. I've been looking to venture into the Dave Smith sound, and while the Prophet 08 is out of my price range, I think the combination of these two units, will go someway to capturing the DSI sound. I'm very much interested in the early sounds of synthesizers. i.e. ko...

Re: Should I keep the jx-3p?

good suggestions. If I were to leave it as it is, is the jx worth keeping, taking into account the kind of sounds i'm after (check the links if u wish to know what i mean)

Re: Should I keep the jx-3p?

do you think the tone of jx-3p is sufficient for the timbre that I wish to acquire? I take into the account that effects play a huge part in this. I'm without the programmer, does this hinder me in anyway??

Should I keep the jx-3p?

Along with my doepfer dark energies and my juno-60, I recently acquired the jx-3p. I like it's sound, it's interface, and also the construction of it (very sturdy). But it hasn't blown me away yet. It's good, but i'm wondering should I cash in and get something better. I do have to admit, I have spe...

First Purchases

Just got my first synths. I'm really into psychedelic, lo-fi, ambient-noise i.e. Oneohtrix Point Never, Emeralds, Dolphins Into The Future etc... I got a Juno-60, Jx-3P, and a dark energy. I got a guitar with an e-bow plus s**t loads of pedals, too. Just wanted to share my joy. The guy who I bought ...

Re: Moog Slayer Mod (Poly 800)

how different is the sound than without the mod? Is it a huge difference? Does it really add a different dimension to the sound?

JX-3P & BCR 2000

I have the Roland on the way. Are these two compatible with each other? Is it difficult to setup? I was thinking of investing in the pg-200, but the prices go for more than the synth.

Moog Slayer Mod (Poly 800)

A friend of mine will do it very cheaply. From reading the forum, it seems it gets mixed reviews.
What are the pros and cons? I heard you need to put a limiter or a compression pedal on it because it f**k screams.

poly 800 with poly 61

i just recently picked up a poly800 but I just seen on e-bay a poly 61 going for f**k all. Is there a point in me investing in a poly 61? They seem to have a different sound, but maybe that's just me. Any ideas?
