Re: TX-81z vs FB-01 more similar than different or not?
I have had both. Do you have a computer editor for the FB-01? You can't program anything with the front panel. Unless you're using the various preset banks on the net, you're stuck with it's stock sounds. The FB-01 is really noisy which works in some favors and is really bad in others. I personally ...

Michael Boddicker's DX7 Patch Banks?
Does anyone have sysex files of Michael Boddicker's DX7 patch banks? I downloaded the million patch banks off the internet (like everyone else) and the file for his patches is there but it's empty. Any help? Thanks!

Re: My new DX7 programming work
I really like your ambient patches a lot! I've watched those videos a few times. Do you know if they have worked with Dexed? I mean, it's sysex so it shouldn't be a problem, just curious because I'd like to pick them up from you.

Thanks for the info. I actually did write David but never heard back. Oh well, still a big fan of those action scores!

Re: The great thread of electronic/synthesizer soundtracks
Micke, any idea what David Michael Frank used in the late 80's/early 90's for his action scores? Was it a Synclavier? Those heavy percussive bass sounds are fantastic.

Mark Snow Millennium Percussion
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5qLhL7FoGzs I'm a big fan of Mark Snow's X-Files and Millennium work. I know he used a Synclavier for the bulk of his scoring work and I'm curious about those big percussion hits he uses. The video above starts out with it. I've tried a lot of different combos of my ...

Re: should I get a prophet 6?
I agree, I think DSI should contact Howarth about creating some patches. That's a great idea.
Also, I think the piano sound you're referring to is actually a piano. I think Micke confirmed it in the soundtrack or Carpenter threads. Anyhow, good luck!

Re: should I get a prophet 6?
I just got one myself and love it. I was originally on the market for the Prophet 10 but settled for the Prophet 6 and I've been recreating a lot of John Carpenter patches on it. It's my main synth for leads while my Sub 37 is more for sequencing. There are a few gripes about it (mostly involving t...

Going to see him in Portland, can't wait!
Hey Micke, I was listening to the In The Mouth Of Madness score at work tonight and I was wondering if you had any idea what was used for the bulk of the score. Sounds mostly like rompler/workstation sounds. Any idea? M1 maybe and an Akai sampler? Thanks!

Re: the reality of using aged analog kit live - please be ho
*knock on wood* I've done several tours with vintage gear and never had any problems. Even with my old Ensoniq SQ-80 which is by far the most unreliable synth I've ever owned. I'm careful with them, have sturdy road cases and keep people away from them. Not proud of it but I have physical shoved peo...

The Long Good Friday theme is great, I think someone re-used it in a recent film but I can't remember which one.

Midtown - Cinematic Synth M1, Wavestation
New track for an EP I'm working on. Used a Korg M1 and a Wavestation (also a Bass Station for the wind fx!).
