Re: New Elka Synthex?
Surprised nobody saw it... http://www.gearjunkies.com/2015/05/the-synthex-2-by-mario-maggi/ Sound it could be digital though, or maybe a mix of digital and analog... Well, we will see. this is a VA which has nothing to do with the Synthex re-issue/kickstarter thing from Finland. apparently Mario Ma...

Re: CS-50 60 owners
the 50 loses 4 voices, an octave of keys, the ribbon, filter tracking (separate levers for HPF and LPF), footswitch button and about 30 lbs. and it's also missing the 60 & 80's hilarious 'patch memory'! Every synth should have a trapdoor under which lives a tiny reproduction of it's control panel! ...

Back in 2009 I stupidly passed up on a mint Rolland RE301 for £150 in one of their shops in Sapporo
I was back there in February but didn't see anything of note this time

Re: Opinions on the Octave Kitten?
I'm quite fond of it, although it has some annoying quirks regarding the lfo. Not sure what difference there is in sound (if any) between the early versions and the later mk2/'SRM' models, apparently the mk1's don't have any CV and gate control. I've had no problems with the keys; they're on the clu...

Re: Big Synthesizers and the Modern Apartment
I don't have an IKEA Broder but rather the more heavy duty model they used to make (I think it was called 'Magnus' or something) It initially seemed pretty rock solid and would easily take the weight of a Nord, VP330 and ARP Quartet; but after about 18 months the whole thing started to gradually com...

Re: Korg MS-20 Mini
Have any of you seen this unboxing video? I think posting unboxings are extremely nerdy (I know I'm not winning any friends here saying that)... but the first thing he does at the end is go fetch his original MS-20 and put them side-by-side. How many people ordering the new mini already own the ori...

Re: New Korgs
This is a bigger deal for me and for most consumers. At 600 euros, that makes the mini ms-20 accessible to a h**l of a lot more people than the 3000-3500 moog voyager. Also, the voyager is a different synth than the minimoog. I find the mini ms-20 interesting because this is the first time that a c...

Forget the Electrix Filter Queen, It sounds nice enough but when mine started playing up and I contacted Electrix to see about having it repaired they pretty much just came straight out and said 'yeah that thing has some serious design floors'!

Re: Mfb Synths
I picked up an MFB step64 for around £50 in something of an ebay coup! Pros: 4 independent channels spread over 4 CV/Gate outputs and midi channels! You can easily transpose sequences up and down via the midi input synking via midi clock is pretty rock solid The four CV/Gate outputs are grouped toge...

Re: New Korgs
a quick Google image search shows that the mini MS20 photos are not pre-existing photo's of the Legacy controller plus photoshop shenanigans!
this could very well be legit!
worst case scenario is that it's just an updated controller for use with the ipad; I guess we'll just have to wait and see!

Apparently the manufacturer has been requesting people remove their videos until they post some of their own demos (presumably with better sound quality) another youtube channel posted this: The manufacturer of the TT303 will be uploading some official videos soon but until that time he has requeste...
