Roland CR68 issue - does not start - ideas?
I have a CR68 that powers on and has 5V & 15V as expected coming out of the power supply. I looked for bad traces, shorted leads etc but found none. I replaced all the electrolytic caps on the board with the clock etc and in the power supply. I confirmed the start/stop switch is making contact, but ...

Re: Korg Polysix: dead or alive KLM367 board needed
I appreciate y'alls input. I'm a few months of tinkering into a Polymoog and have had the same 2 steps forward, 3 steps sideways, 5 back type experience you describe with it. I am indeed tempted by the kiwisix, but the price has me put off at the moment, and I especially don't want to get one and fi...

Korg Polysix: dead or alive KLM367 board needed
I bought a Polysix on eBay for a very reasonable price, it was one of those "I found this in my grandmothers attic, not sure how to plug the cord into the wall" deals. I assumed it would arrive with a really bad case of battery corrosion to the board, and my plan was to use it as an excuse to learn ...

Re: Help needed! Korg PE 1000 information
PE1000 is P. PE2000 is S Ha - I guess I should revisit the notion that skimming is not really reading. No wonder I can't find a PE1000 S! I should also add, I recently got a Crumar Performer cheap and it's got great phase-y strings and a decent filter. Might be a possible contender. Also have a Kor...

Re: Help needed! Korg PE 1000 information
First question is: is it a P or S? I have a PE1000 P that I paid about $400 for a few months ago and felt I got a good deal, so that asking price is not bad. It is perfect in every way and included the lid etc. Sound is as Silikon said: restrained -I would describe it as almost gentle. It has it's o...

Re: POST ANY INTERESTING EBAY / CRAIGSLIST LISTINGS HERE!!!
ebay comes up in google is also really irritating--free advertising, even when the product isn't even available. Well, anyway, maybe this is a good thing. I need any excuse to look at ebay less. It's pretty wallet damaging. I was thinking also about how google results now are much more about sendin...

Re: POST ANY INTERESTING EBAY / CRAIGSLIST LISTINGS HERE!!!
FWIW, I think this is more stupid than interesting. 5 grand, OK, but this? Mostly interesting to see the full kit together - but yes, a ridiculous price Re: eBay::.. my pet theory: eBay's purpose was originally to sell quality/collectible/vintage/antique (desirable secondary market) used ite...

Re: Beyond The Desert
Good stuff. Downloaded your album earlier today and played it at work. We like instrumentals as background while coding so I'm sure it will end up in rotation!

Re: Arp Omni- No Sound
This is not an uncommon thing. Omni's are full of components that fail readily -capacitors and IC's mostly. There was this recent thread about troubleshooting an Omni: http://www.vintagesynth.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=72273 A power up with complete failure to make sound may actually be a good si...

Re: Need 'all in one' digital multitrack recorder recommenda
Update: I bought a Tascam DP 24. Amazon has new ones for $476. Cheaper than several used ones I saw on eBay. The new era begins! Old post: Thanks for the response. I was drawn to the NEO because, like the Yamaha AW4416 mentioned earlier, it seems like a lot of bang for buck. I don't really have any ...
