Re: What was the cheapest Synth you ever bought?

I'm a lot less talented than a lot of you when it comes down to find good deals. Cheapest synth I ever bought ? It's a tie between my Korg Monotron, the Monotron Duo or maybe the Mixtape Alpha I have on order.

Line 6 M5/M9/M13 sounds great with synth. They've stereo ins and outs as well as midi.

Re: In the market for a quality digital delay unit

If you're willing to look at a Timefactor, you might as well consider a Strymon Timeline. There's also some good delays out there in your price range. TC Electronic Flashback x4, Vox Delaylab (surprisingly great sounding)...

Re: Which studio monitors should I buy?

My personal favorites are the m-audio BX5a. I've spent quite some time in a decent room a/b-ing monitors and they're the closest to the Neumann / Klein & Hummel KH120 which have my preference in the upper range. KRK Rokit would be a close second to the BX5a, still, I find them to be lacking in the m...

Re: Suggestions for a good Preamp/Interface?

If you're on a Mac, and if it's enough to cover your needs, consider the Apogee Duet 2. IMHO what's best out there when it comes to conversion and preamplification under the €1000 bar. If you plan on using a PC, I'll second on the M-Audio Profire series. Both the 2626 and 610 have my preference unde...

WAtching demos, I find the interface fairly similar to Logic's Ultrabeat.

Re: low cost DAW for mainly recording HW w/some vst use too

Since you can't run Logic which is my personal favorite and was my motivation switching to a mac back in 2007, walking in your shoes, I'd go for Reaper as well which is the closest I have found in terms of ease of use and practicability. Mac users can try Apple's Garageband which comes with any Mac....

Not owning any, but I've always had a sweetspot for the Arturia stuff. Great to see they're taking a shot on drum machines.

Re: whats your favorite hammond/organ emulator?

Logic's EVB3 hands down. I've been trying to replace it with a third party plug without success.
