Re: Synth repair NY

Well, honestly not sure about the Yamaha but, the Alesis isn't worth that much even if it's repaired. The lowest price i got to look at it is $50 and if it costs $100 to repair it's probably not worth it. The Yamaha? Depending on what's wrong might be worth it. Maybe if I get these in hand some of t...

Synth repair NY

I might be coming into 2 synths that need repair. A Yamaha DX 7 and an Alesis QS6. The only thing I know about them is that they have blurred screens when turned on and no sound. It be nice to know someone local to the NY area so I don't have to ship.

Any advice appreciated

Re: Need help with Hopefully a simple fix - Korg MS2000R

It is currently on order. I hope you didn't order from Roland as I suggested !!!!!!! Actualy, ALL synths are made by a secret, giant Japaneese corporation called "SYNTHCO". They operate out of an underground laboratory inside an inactive volcano. They just stamp different names on certain mo...

Re: Using Paypal on the forum

Ebay and Paypal handle things very much differently. With Ebay you have an item listing, and there can be additional corresponding through messages etc. All of which Ebay can see. They usually decide their cases based on all of that. Here's two recent experiences of Paypal only transactions I had as...

I wanna know how can seller can be on the safe side if item is picked up locally by the buyer (on ebay or off ebay) who can claim that he never received the item?

Pretty simple - make a receipt and have him/her sign it. Explain to them why. It should be a problem.

New (to me) Inexpensive pickup - Casiotone 405

Found it at local gold/silver shop. Never saw one so "complete" with the pedals, and cover http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h220/mtb6910/Casiotone%20405/IMG_0647.jpg http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h220/mtb6910/Casiotone%20405/IMG_0648.jpg http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h220/mtb6910/Casiotone%...

Re: Need help with Hopefully a simple fix - Korg MS2000R

Well, the idiot in you, helped this idiot locate the part.

It is currently on order. Crossing my fingers I can install it because I don't know of any reasonable techs in my area.

Not gonna call the problem solved until I get this piece installed

Re: Need help with Hopefully a simple fix - Korg MS2000R

Hi Marc, I am glad it worked for you. It is not wise to delete posts and pictures , they might be needed for future reference. Gluing sounds problematic to me. Call Roland ad see if you can still order a switch. EDIT: Look over the schematic again, If the headphone jack works, but the two mains do ...

Apologies, I have a 30 watt soldering iron...no guns here :D

Re: Need help with Hopefully a simple fix - Korg MS2000R

Yekuku...perfect. All I did was re-solder and add a little extra solder. Connection is solid, and it powers on all the time. Now, getting back to the mic/line switch. That isn't a solder/connection issue. Seems as if this plastic piece (as shown in my hand) has broken off. The other part of the swit...

Re: Need help with Hopefully a simple fix - Korg MS2000R

The adapter is definitely factory. There must be some connection with the socket and the rest of the unit because, if the socket is in certain positions the unit turns on.

I'm not afraid to re-solder though
