Re: Arturia to give away MinimoogV...

No dongle needed on this, just a somewhat frustrating time trying to get Arturia's website to handle all the traffic so you can get to your download. I got mine earlier, sounds nice. I probably won't use it on anything but it's nice to have for writing sessions when I don't want to fire up and patch...

Re: Superfreak Synth

It was most likely an Oberheim, yeah, and according to Teena Marie, it was probably Prince's Oberheim! In 1980, Prince opened for James on the Fire It Up tour. James complained that Prince stole his stage moves and according to Marie, Rick paid Prince back by stealing his gear. “Back then people wer...

Re: Waldorf Blofeld vs. Shruthli-1

I am asking because they go for about the same $ and they both seem to be VA...correct me if I am wrong... Shruthi is not a VA and Blofeld is only 'technically' a VA. Shruthi is monophonic and has analog filters (unless you get the digital filter version), Blofeld is polyphonic, multitimbral, and h...

Bitexion wrote:The keyboard version can load samples like you could from the Waveterm. That's disabled on the module version. Guess they didn't make room for a harddrive in it.
Not true, you can do that on the module version as well, you just have to buy the license.

Re: 2012 "Year of the Monosynth"

Don't forget the Waldorf Pulse 2 I know I will pick up at least one monosynth in the next year. The pulse 2 currently has my interest the most. Maybe that is just because it has not been released yet. As much as I would like to be excited about the Pulse 2, the apparent lack of CV ins/outs and the ...

Re: Arturia MiniBrute - analog monosynth

Do people on here have any from the first batch? Some places sounded like they had already sold the first run... I'm really surprised no one on VSE was not amoung the first batch. Which leads me to believe maybe it was a super small, "cooler-than-you" select few (myself included of course) who rece...

They were pushed back at Sweetwater until late May so the wait may be a while.

Re: Studio electronics Boomstar?

considering that there are few if any retailers for many of these synths, the market is going to have trouble expanding to accommodate them. that's econ 101 - supply exceeds demand. the increasing number of monos slicing up market share means that it may be impossible for any of them to achieve the...

Re: Studio electronics Boomstar?

These look cool, but I can't see getting one to be honest. The most exciting part is the different filter types and that's just as easily covered by the modular world...I'll have to wait and see how they actually sound.

Re: Incoming Knobby Blofeld (sort of)?

Sorry didn't see that thread, and I thought I looked but maybe I didn't. There's another demo here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_p-frgmwv8 IMO it's fairly hideous and I wonder who the h**l their target market is? I think my GAS just died. that is such a strange demo. Sounds like they're aiming ...
