Re: New Elektron Machine

This looks to me pretty much like Elektron's version of the Tempest... not exactly innovative :( Perhaps. But I'd be willing to bet that it will be about $700 less than the Tempest. I predict a street price of $1,299 for the AR; the Tempest usually runs about $1,999. machinedrum with sampling is US...

Re: New stuff from Roland!

saw the USB thing too, thought it was odd...would be very surprised if it didnt have midi over usb, gonna assume they dont have that info yet. As for it not being big enough for 16 outs, i would assume they're the same as the tempest in that they're 8 stereo outs, pan one sound hard left, pan one ha...

since you're a live player, i'd go the Mopho because it has aftertouch. The Sledge doesnt.

Re: New Novation Bass Station?

i'll be preordering this,
the more classic sound, sweet sequencer/arp, patch storage, usb power and midi implementation make it a winner over the minibrute for me.

Re: DSI announces Prophet 12!

Nowhere does it say the oscillators are analog... They're not; apparently they're not even DCOs, but processer-based. Fine by me as long as they've got more than the usual waveforms in there. Looks and sounds like 2 Tempest engines to me, 2 ana + 2 digi + sub osc. I assume that's what he meant when...

Re: New Korgs

I think the King Korg is looking pretty killer too. Never seen tubes in a keyboard synth before, solid fx section, nice looking old school knobs. If their recent software is anything to go by then they should have the VA aspect pretty much nailed. shame it's only dual timbral but I guess it's geared...

Re: New Korgs

But for those of us that really would like to see another analogue poly on the market besides the P-08, it is disappointing. Not sure if you don't care for DSi synths and/or sounds, but Chris, a.k.a. Pym has stated that something big is dropping from DSi for NAMM. My best guess (purely speculation,...

Re: What to do with a vintage synth studio (Not a music guy)

Most suggestions so far have been about making the most profit, personally, If I died and left a collection of amazing gear behind, i'd like it to go someone who's going to use it and cherish it rather than the highest bidder. If I were you, I would probably sell off the sought after items locally, ...

Re: Chorus with stereo input?

Just for the record,
the TC one I bought lasted about 2 weeks before the switch busted. Not a great sign considering I was using it with my soft pudgy hand, not my big arse foot. Probs would not recommend.
