Korg 770 (+ Polysix going into the input)

Hi all. Thought you might be interested in an audio demo of the properly vintage Korg 770 (36-years old). http://soundcloud.com/elseedier/korg-770 This is pure sound out of the output without EQ or effects. 0:00-12:05 is just the 770, 12:05 until the end is the Polysix going into its output. It's a ...

Re: Novation K-Station demo

As a fellow K station owner, I agree the interface makes this synth so instantly useable and always gratifying. It's pretty much my go-to synth for coming up with ideas and new sounds when I am coming up with ideas for new songs. Aye, it`s very quick and easy to evolve the same patch from a square ...

Novation K-Station demo

In my opinion, and having tried them all, this is the best of the budget mini-VA synths out there. It may be arguable which sounds better between the K-Station, Microkorg and Miniak/Micron, but it's no contest which has the superior UI. Your synth is no good if you're not inspired to play on it, and...

Access Virus Ti demo

I regret swapping this beast of a synth: I enjoy what I swapped it for (Machinedrum MK2 + Evolver) but I miss those doomy movie soundtrack pads: http://soundcloud.com/elseedier/access-virus-ti-doom-drones I do still have the KB, but it sounds less smooth, less creamy to me (strange maybe as most onl...

Korg Polysix demo

This synth's reputation seems to be getting more revered with each passing year. Here's what I get out of mine: Vangelis-strings, followed by LFO-noise and ethereal soundscaping: http://soundcloud.com/dholl-seeds/vaver Two Polysixes, one on arp and one on deep water pad duties: http://soundcloud.com...

Roland JV-1010 demo

Hi all. I'd thought I'd share with you my audio demo of arguably the best half-rack rompler ever made: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwURVxpGmLU Highly recommended if you're looking for a small box that does a bit of everything, it even has a space for one JV expansion. I like it for soundtrack play.

Re: E-MU XK-6 ::: have u ever pwned one ?

'Ve read a couple of texts on the Web but still want to ask here; What kind of gear is this, what does it sound like, is it worth 500$ ? How does it look compared to the other colorful plastic EMUs I also have no idea about? When I think of these EMUs, Ensoniq Fizmo also gets in my mind. I've just ...

Re: wx7 wind controller

Is an instrument that requires a lot of practice. This is probably the number one fact when commenting on using an electronic wind instrument. I have the Akai EVI1000/EWV2000 combination, and as brilliant as it is I found I'm not putting in the hours to get good at it. The EVI has a very nifty mech...

Re: Which Synth matches this description?

Always happy to see a post from you, Samurai warrior :hi: at least I'll know we can discuss the issues at hand. PE (Potentiometer Edition) is worth about $200 more, to some. PE meaning Potentiomer Edition is common to all dave smith products because they used a bad encoder on a number of products th...

Re: Which Synth matches this description?

you're acting like a j**k. Get a Yamaha PSR-7, a reverb pedal and evolve away. Right...you know, a forum is only as good as its community. You've just added to the uselessness and condescension gene pool. If most of your contributions are as poor as that, and there are more of you out there, then t...

Re: what synth would compliment a JP8000 and an AN1x

Those are good recommendations, but some of them are out of his budget (500-600) like the Jomox or the Elektrons The XBase can be had for between €300-€400, and the Elektron Machinedrum for €500-€600. DLovas said his budget was 500-600. Maybe if he is from USA then it's a weaker currency, and as we...

Re: what synth would compliment a JP8000 and an AN1x

Here is an example of what I think is an analogue monosynth as trancy lead line from this 1997 trance track (from 4:05 the lead line begins to play): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VwoGjLR31k4 As you can hear it has massive juicy presence, it's put through some digital multi-fx for added tranceness :D

Re: what synth would compliment a JP8000 and an AN1x

Get something groovy. Drum machines with lots of tweaks. That's good advice. Loads of knobby hardware options: - Korg EMX-1 - Elektron (not sure which one but they are often recommended) - Jomox XBase09 (or for more sounds the Airbase99 + midi-knob controller) - Quasimidi 309 (Rave-o-lution) - Yama...

Re: Which Synth matches this description?

More on the prophet 08 - it seems as if they're dropping in price because poly evolver and even mek are so lusted after. . Which one is "mek"? Is it the DSI Mono Evolver Keyboard? I've just been checking out Germany prices of the Prophet 08 rack, and I see some go for €700-€800, and others with the...
