About to snag a DX11...
So I'm probably about to buy a DX11 from someone who found it in their closet (an OB-Xa or a Neuron would have been great, but this will have to do... ;) ) and has no idea if it works or not. From what I understand this synth is A) a variation on the DX7 and B) a keyboard version of the TX81z. I jus...

Re: Rumor: New ACB(?) Roland sampler coming to NAMM 2016
ACB in a sampler ? Please wake me up from this nightmare. I think it's more along the lines of ACB-like technology. From GS: for the same reason UAD is recognised for it's circuit/component modelling of various vintage digital FX (lexicon, eventide, etc). there was a time - pre-dAW era - where digi...

Re: A quick question about the Korg Krome...
Late reply, but I wanted to thank you for the stylus suggestion. I've been using it with the Krome and it has made things much easier, especially with using the sequencer!

A quick question about the Korg Krome...
I'm getting a Korg Krome soon. A few reviews mentioned using a stylus for the touchscreen. Seeing as the sequencer is kinda small and my hands aren't the most stable, I'm going to get one. Is there any specific stylus I need to get for it's touchscreen or will any good-quality, universal stylus for ...

Re: do any of you jam with other synth guys?
I don't know anybody else who plays synth. I know a few drummers and a few guitarists, but no synth players.

Re: Thoughts on the Alpha Juno?
Has anyone used the Phutura plugin? It's supposed to be a Alpha-Juno replica, complete with various hoover-based patches. I used to use it a ton until I switched to Mac; it's Windows-only and I haven't figured out a good way to switch between the two for production yet.

Re: Saying it's live with a laptop next ....
Oh you guys.... who wants to see electronic music performed 'live' anyways? That's my feeling. The EM acts I like are in the improvisational vein, but even then it's mostly an auditory experience. I saw Robert Fripp do a show with two refrigerators full of rack gear controlled from his guitar, a ba...

Re: Dead serious stupid noob DJ-ing question...
So this word "Producer" I keep hearing all the time - is that just shitspeak for someone who lifts wav files off other people's records and makes their own songs out of the bits, or do they actually write and sequence their own riffs/beats and make songs out of them? Nowdays it means someone who ow...

So was the Fusion ever "finished", or are all of them buggy to some degree?

Re: How do you work on your tracks?
Do you start with a beat / drum pattern / arpeggio? Usually drum patterns, sometimes riffs or arpeggios Do you let a specific sound inspire you? Sometimes, yes. Sometimes it's just a cool patch, sometimes it's an interesting sound I've heard, sometimes it's a record or song sped up or slowed down a...

Thinking Backwards: Multiple controllers for one source?
I've seen many different ways to set up a live setup using MIDI controllers, workstations, and synthesizers. One setup I haven't seen (or can't remember seeing) is using multiple MIDI controllers hooked up to one central sound module. Whether it's a computer, a rack-mount sound module, workstation, ...
