Re: Kraftwerk live setup vid

At 4:39 he's browsing VSE forum. Maybe to ask how to make that old Kraftwerk sound quickly?

Re: Arturia MiniBrute - analog monosynth

I still can't believe it is from Arturia. What's next? An 8 voice discrete VCO synth with poly aftertouch from Casio?

I will probably buy one. The saw animation and wave folding effect are very tempting.

Re: Arturia MiniBrute - analog monosynth

I've listened to some sounds and now I can say I'm not only excited but also very impressed. It sounds very different from my Little Phatty but I love that sound too. I think it would make a great doubling/supporting synth for the Moog. I really appreciate the way the oscillator waveshape can be fre...

Re: Arturia MiniBrute - analog monosynth

I'm excited. The more modern analogue keyboards the better. Personally, I find the 25 keys keyboard a bit short.

Re: What was your first Moog?

My first Moog is Little Phatty Stage II with black side ends, December 2011. I don't have any other moogs but the LP's such a cool synth that it is not going to be my last thing from Moog.

Taurus III or Minitaur are next in the queue. :geek:

Re: Synth sadness: overworked and underplayed.

Garranimal's advice is golden. I used to do it when I worked long hours in a place where I had a lot of free 'thinking' time during work. In my present job it isn't possible but I still think about my music making while commuting. I also designed my studio so that I can get it up and running in 10 s...

Re: just got a DX7. Suggestions on learning or patches?

Congratulations on the DX7. I was in the same boat some years ago. I recommend the lecture of Howard Massey's book. It gets you started with the basics really quickly but there's so much more to learn. It's all in experimentation, analysing voice data from existing patches, modifying them and a lot ...

Re: Landed a CHEAP DX7....almost too cheap.

You're within the norm although barely so ($10!!! :D ). The brown DX7 has the graphics you describe and it shouldn't be noisy unless broken. Man, DX7 is a wonderful synth if you're a keyboard player.

Re: Fixing a DX7-II . . . volume on one key

Does it work well when velocity sensitivity is disabled? I had a problem with random keys in the lowest octave on my DX7 MkI - they output lower velocity than the rest. The contacts looked good so I reflowed all solder joints on the keyboard PCB and that completely revitalised it.
