Re: Archangel Sequencer
This sequencer is absolutely worth the money, IMO. To get this kind of functionality in one unit is really unheard of. Sure, it took a long time to come to market, but that's normal for a small company making an ambitious product launch and there are so many elements that needed to come together for...

Re: Big Synthesizers and the Modern Apartment
Ikea stomen. It's a floor to ceiling pole so the weight goes to the floor, not the wall and they sell poles that you can attach a tiltable shelf to that has a lip on it. I'm pretty tempted to move my modular setup to something like this to take up less space.

Re: 505/606/626/707?
Also, check out the older electribes. I have an Er-1 and it's the best. Super easy to sequence, mute and solo parts and as long as you don't push the low boost knob too hard you'll get great sounds out of it. A bit brittle on the high end, but not bad for $100. Plus if you get units that are midi ca...

Re: 8bit osc+Analog filter synth
I wouldn't say a six track sounds exactly what you'd call 8bit...not even close. Some consoles may have used the same chips but that's where the similarity ends.

Re: Synth grouping
I went from 15 boards to just a modular, a mopho and a tempest at one point. it wasn't quite the right mix, so I added a sixtrak, an esq-1, minibrute and an ipad and switched my tempest into an arturia spark. I'm actually even considering dumping the sixtrak and mopho and just building even yet more...

Re: LZX Video Modular
http://www.brownshoesonly.com/modules/ He makes a VCA and a Mixer. To an extent you can integrate control voltage, but apparently video can tend to need higher oscillation rates to be effective. The LZX stuff is top notch apparently. I know Brownshoesonly personally and have seen many of his live pe...

Re: Who here is ALL ANALOG?
Oh and here's a great example of why digital+analog is amazing.
I ran sunrizer through a minibrute and got this. So many good tones I'd never get at with a minibrute. Squishing polyphonic tones through one filter really sounds fantastic at times.

Re: Who here is ALL ANALOG?
you laugh but Suit and Tie Guy uses a high end ADAT to color his sound occasionally and it rips. Everything has a place, IMO.

Re: Vile Electrodes - what drums?
Thought there was some SCI in there. It's my new (again) obsession. I only have an arturia spark (which actually sounds pretty decent for software) but I really want to pick one up as they're not all that expensive (yet). Thanks for popping in and commenting on how you make your music. So cool.

Re: 4 Keyboards that complement each other?
Don't shed that Juno6. If it's historically helped you get stuff done, keep it! That, your ms-10 something really more modern like a mopho x4 to replace the prophet 600 and a jupiter 4 would be an insane setup. When you put your sound together, consider where stuff sits in the mix. Personally, my se...

Re: Synth prices and inflation
So how long can we go on this one before being threatened with banishment for allowing a discussion to evolve naturally? That's why I don't even come around here anymore. Over-moderation is pretty rampant on VSE. The threads that are "problematic" get more involvement and bring up bigger questions....

Re: Museum synthesizer exhibition
at the least an oscilloscope would be ideal for visualizing wave forms. In fact, one that taps in after each stage of the signal flow would be ideal so people see how the filter, an lfo, a wavefolder, etc are changing the sound.

Re: Ever been tempted to sell everything and buy a Jupiter 6
Thanks guys. I'm thinking of doing a few more things like this. Now that I have more CV gear I look at the back of every synth to see what options I have. It really opens up possibilities. I need to get some 1/8 in cables now for my minibrute to see about patching the pitch or gate out to the cv ins...

Re: Ever been tempted to sell everything and buy a Jupiter 6
I've thought of this many times. It's great and nothing is quite like it. Personally, though I'm doing really well lately with my juno6 and my cp-251. Maybe get yourself a midi/cv converter to get a way to send gates to futher push the possibilities of your prophet+cp251? Here's a video where I use ...
