Re: Roland MC-500 Seq. woes and general confusion

Heloooo As an update: Seller did refund my cash and let me keep the Sequencer so I could toy with it. It's been sitting around until today, when I brought it to a PC repair/donation shop here in town to see if they had a compatible floppy drive to replace it with. Couple things: The standard floppy ...

Re: Roland MC-303 Midi Ch1 Send?

This is what my searches have found, I'd need something like this: http://www.microdesignum.cz/obchod/detail/MIDI-Channel-Merger-16-1 Apparently there is a use for these things, people who have MIDI keytars that transmit different channels based on the note range and want to control something older ...

Re: Roland MC-303 Midi Ch1 Send?

Either way, "some muted" or "none muted" is the same thing when I might have a different set muted by the time I want to change 303 sequences. How, when I program some to be muted, will I know what I will want muted when I start the sequence, especially live? Also, it is correct, because it is the d...

Re: Roland MC-500 Seq. woes and general confusion

you can make your own system disk, the files needed are linked in my last post ;) See my first post: or made an OS disk (which I can't do, as I don't own a floppy drive) Or the one above this one: Seeing as I don't have any way of actually getting another system disk without spending about 30-40 bu...

Re: Roland MC-303 Midi Ch1 Send?

I wish I could, to be honest, but whenever you change patterns at the end of another, by default ALL of the Parts in that pattern start un-muted, regardless if I'd had only half of them playing. It's one of the clunkiest things to do, switching from one pattern to another on the MC 303 without havin...

Re: Roland MC-500 Seq. woes and general confusion

It does, it spins the disk, the light on the drive blinks a few times, then the metronome beeps and tells me to put a disk in. Seeing as I don't have any way of actually getting another system disk without spending about 30-40 bucks to get all the stuff to make my own, nor will I know even then if i...

Re: Roland MC-303 Midi Ch1 Send?

Haha, Not at the same time, the 303 has "part mute buttons", so switching between them on the same midi channel to get more 'variety' is what i'm aiming at, not sending a cacophony of notes to it all at once. :? :|

Roland MC-303 Midi Ch1 Send?

I've recently purchased a Domino from Eowave, (it sounds fantastic, by the way) and have been programming little 303 sequences with my MC-303. The problem with this is that when I do a MIDI send to the Domino, I can only program for the Domino on Part-1 (or P-1) on the 303. I programmed this beautif...

Exactly the draw to this one... Plus the MC-500 seems to be one of the best sequencers of its kind...

I'm sending it back to the seller tomorrow, hopefully.

Re: Roland MC-500 Seq. woes and general confusion

If it helps, the discs I ordered looked to be newly 'burned', and I want to trust the seller of those when they say "Your Disk has been tested/verified as OK"... Is there a sort of soft reset, or a factory reset combination? I don't know why it'd have one as the OS is on the diskette... Would it rec...

Roland MC-500 Seq. woes and general confusion

Hello! Had ordered an MC-500 from ebay that, once I'd received it, had realized that the seller didn't test it at all, even though the title was "WORKS GREAT". First of all, it didn't come with an OS disk, and didn't mention it, so that was indicator number one. After contacting the seller to inform...

Love and Despair (J.J. See) [80s fantasy soundtrack?]

My new track. Uploaded a working version, just because I got excited. Second track with my DW-8000, the first one was a simple arpeggio. http://soundcloud.com/j-j-see/love-and-despair Any tips, hints, whatnot, I'd be glad to hear them. (I know there's a glitch in the bell track toward the end, getti...

Re: Korg DW-8000 needs... new battery?

Hey!

Was checking to see which patches were dead and going through them all, and in the process, all of the patches came back over time.

Is it normal for the synth to need to 'warm up' over a period of a half an hour or more, and until then, everything sounds like garbage?

Re: Korg DW-8000 needs... new battery?

Answers! (thanks so much for the help here.) These answers are based on the condition of it when I woke up this morning, not after doing a new tape load. (1) Powered it on today, only about 1/4 of the patches played correctly after being powered down for 7 hours. Odd thing is, powered off last night...
