Re: Are there any "extinct" synthesizers?
I'd be surprised if there are any Buchla 500 Systems still remaining as well as any 400s, I know there are some Buchla 700s remaining since there is a demo of one that some guy posted onto myspace of him playing with one, and Ive been told that here was one auctioned off at ebay years ago. Maybe the...

Re: Macbeth or Telemark?
As for sound I'm not too highly sure of it yet. Though I'd like to have something that's more aggressive sounding, if you can understand what I mean. Though I'd also like something that's more soft and warm sounding to add onto it. For the first, aggressive, I'd recommend a Future-Retro XS. Can do ...

Re: Macbeth or Telemark?
The M5/M5N -- VERY nice synth. Drawbacks? Size (it's HUGE, have a look at the pictures in my studio to get an idea), price (good luck finding one for grabs, let alone at an affordable price). CV only. (unless you get an outboard midi-cv converter) Lately they fetch prices around $USD4000-5000 depen...

Re: Macbeth or Telemark?
Well the M5 costs (or did cost) about five times as much as a Telemark. You can guess yourself what that means in terms of features, (build) quality and sound... I personally would stay away from Analogue Solutions, but that's just me... If you plan to expand into modular later, I'd look at the Doe...

Macbeth or Telemark?
Hey there guys I'm looking for an affordable and easy to use modular to have. I'm really interested into getting a Telemark but they are quite pricey seeming towards how I'm going to get my first part time job sometime, so is the Macbeth M5 cheaper and which one would be easier for a beginner to use...

Re: A good effects processor
-I am on a tight budget -I am getting my first one -I plan on using mostly software -I wanna be able to take it "out on the road" -I like more creative and flexible things The Biscuit has always struck me as an expensive one trick pony, seems like it wouldn't be the best choice for these criteria. ...

Re: A good effects processor
I have the Kaoss Pad Quad, and although it's very cool, I think I still would prefer a KP3 over it. I also have the original MiniKp, btw. Remember that several of the effects are combinations. Several effects are combinations? You mean on the Mini KP, yeah I'd think that, but I'd much rather make m...

Re: A good effects processor
1st determine if you want something that does many different effects or one effect really well. Well I think that many different effects would be good to have, but in reality I don't really care just as long as it's useful and I can do more then select effects. The Biscuit looks creative to me beca...

Re: A good effects processor
I recommend you take a look at the new Korg MiniKaossPad 2. It's possible to record large samples directly to a memory card Thanks a lot for the suggestion but I don't really see too much creativity with in it. I'd rather not use something that's a little more "preset driven" if you know what I mea...

A good effects processor
Hey there I've been looking around for an effects processor, but I am a little bit stumped on what I should get. I've been looking at the KP Quad and OTO Biscuit, would those be good ones for me? Here are some things that might help lower down the list -I am on a tight budget -I am getting my first ...

Re: What's in Deadmau5's live set?
You mean this? http://www.analoguehaven.com/hintoninstruments/switchmix/switchmix.jpg The Synth below the Nord is a Cwejman S1, the stuff to the left of the desk is a Eurorack modular, with modules from Cwejman, Synthtech, STG and others. Below the XS is an SSL G bus compressor, not sure what's bel...
