Re: Analogue & otherwise Educational Synthesizers
I read somewhere that the original idea for the Wurlitzer electric pianos was to enable a whole classroom full of piano students under the supervision of one teacher simultaneously, using headphones as to not disturb each other, and then the teacher could "tune in" to one student at a time and give...

Re: Mooghead on the Minibrute
I am kind of unnerved that you could compare the MiniBrute to lowpass-only synths... especially those with 24db per octave. My experience with the MiniBrute lends me the belief, born of the fact that it has a 12 dB per oct multimode filter, that the standard analog synths have relatively little in ...

Re: Mooghead on the Minibrute
yeah! the filter on the minibrute sounds close to the LP filter when you have its overdrive cranked up- and its noise source is great!the more I want to pair my Moog LP and Minibrute.

Re: Mooghead on the Minibrute
Thanks! In answer to your question, it has a more rounded sound than I was anticipating, not as harsh, although you can MAKE it harsh with a couple quick adjustments- I used it live in place of the Voyager and was surprised at how it still sat on top of the mix without being obnoxious, if you know w...

Mooghead on the Minibrute
I've always been that Moog snob, but this little thing sounds pretty cool too... (all sounds minus the Roland drum machine = Arturia Minibrute) Sorry I didn't probably didn't post this on that 47 plus thread, but I figured since this thing is now out of the bag, we could use a NEW thread! http://you...

Being bored enough to browse this forum pays off every now and then! I had a pre-order in purgatory through Sweetwater and saw you guys' GC instant success- Ordered one straight off and cancelled the Sweetwater order! I have a show Thursday- It'll be here Wednesday! I think I'll get risky and swap o...

take it easy there rooster- don't spoil your rep by looking needlessly excited on a corny synth forum...It's my job to prove s**t to you. I am an archivist at the Bob Moog Foundation who also has a degree in composition with an electronic music emphasis.

Re: Arturia MiniBrute - analog monosynth
sometimes the dork factor on this forum defies comprehension! it's a very reasonably priced monosynth that you can either buy or not buy, so buy or don't buy it, dorks! and I do admit of course, by being on this forum, I'm a dork too, but MAN you guys take it to new levels sometimes! do you really t...

Re: What a great list of gear
Are you referring to the OP or to Alex? If it's Alex, can you explain the worth of basically shooting down the whole point of a thread just because you disagree with it? It's not like the OP asked something like, "What do you guys think about having a bunch of gear instead of just a few instruments...

Re: What a great list of gear
e-angst is so e-unflattering- I see no reason why a young synth entusiast can't express his opinion without getting sneered at- this is just a silly forum to play on while uninspired to create music, right? or do some of you guys actually feel an e-identity here, and thus reason to e-bully virtual s...

Re: What a great list of gear
Ok. . . . I get it, not that interesting for ya. Um, it's a very nice list of gear... I'd be my list of gear if I were rich... I don't see how it's so mind blowing, considering this guy is over 50 and has been active in the music biz since pre 1980- it shows he has good taste! so, thanks for sharin...
