Re: Rare :: SH-101 :: Army Green

somehow i think the OP is trolling us all Seeing how it was the OP's only post on the subject and the other person we've been debating it with also happens to have a user name that begins with a "C", I'd say you're right on the money. At the very least, Metroid has brought us all a little closer to...

Re: Rare :: SH-101 :: Army Green

Metroid prime is singularly one of the most important games ever made as it was also integral in the development of the speedrunning sub communities. Not to mention the soundtrack is sick as f**k. Had to look that one up (speedrunning sub communities). And you are correct, that is an awesome soundt...

Re: Rare :: SH-101 :: Army Green

Dudes! You are wrong about the SH... you are wrong about the SNES. For various reasons plastic changes color, some cases are well documented and plentiful... others are rare...depends on the polymers, age and environment. If you spent any time in the computer or video game collecting community you'...

Re: Rare :: SH-101 :: Army Green

My 101 is olive green. It is a different color from the mod grip which is gray, and inside the battery compartment is the same color as the mod grip. I'd upload a picture but it is too much a pain in the a*s to do so. Looks like the typical aging of plastic as one would expect for a 30 year old syn...

Re: Rare :: SH-101 :: Army Green

"Exposed to UV light" doesn't mean "left out in the sun." Also, it's not paint. Pigmentation colors the actual plastic. In all of those pics the green actually looks greenish grey. Plenty of materials, dyes, and paints change color over time. Yellowing is one of the most common. Check out pre-20th ...

Re: Rare :: SH-101 :: Army Green

Why then are all the grey SH-101's ever made not green now? Why just a few? Why the same army green? Why not a less deep color? Paints usually fade to a lighter color, not darker.
I have seen keys yellow over time, but not uniformly.

Re: Rare :: SH-101 :: Army Green

I don't buy the sunlight exposed reasoning. The green is too uniform and in places that sunlight wouldn't hit. And who puts a synth in sunlight long enough for this to happen? I own and have owned so many synths since 1986 and know players who have synths and have never seen this pehomenon. Any memb...

Re: Rare :: SH-101 :: Army Green

I posted this a while back and the reply was they do not exist. Here is what Stab Frenzy had to say, but I don't think grey becomes green. And it's the same green in every corner and crevice. 'Because the grey plastic turns greenish over time, I guess from exposure to UV light or something. Have a l...

Re: How many of you still have your first synth?

When I was 17 I bought my first synth, a Roland Alpha Juno 1. I later sold it, but rebought an Alpha Juno 2 to replace that hole in my soul. Now I just need to find a PG-300 to fill that other hole.

Re: custom wood sides....where?

Active Member themilford makes wood ends for the Akai AX60 and the Matrix 6. Look under Gear Services & Other Goods. Email him. He may be able to help. I bought ends for my AX60 and it looks great.

Which is the problem with digital synths. I still feel burned over my Alesis Fusion. It was $2000 new, I waited and got one for $1200, and a year or two later they could be picked up used for $600ish. It was a great synth though.

Or an Electrix Filter Factory or Electrix Filter Queen. Those can be found on ebay for under $200 (Filter Queen under $100). Ignore the high buy it now prices.

Re: Casiotone Love?

Good news. I just discovered you can revert to the old version of soundcloud from the More page. I like some of the features of the new soundcloud, but not all.
Here's the song again.
