Can Anyone tell me about M83
I know they were a duo out of France, and write music in an electropop / ambient style which is the info I got from Wiki. What my main interest is what sort of gear did/ do they use to get those really smooth, silky (near cosmic) sounding synth pads in most of their music. Thanks in advance for Any ...

What a great list of gear
As a musician, I'm typically curious about the gear used that makes the music i like to listen to. Below is a list of Synth gear used by "Argen Lucassen" of Ayreon. He's Dutch, and crafts some of the most interesting prog-rock-ish style music. I wish I had the coin to add the gear (below) to my coll...

Re: Synths that you loved before, but have now gone off
Talking vintage stuff, I'd have to say. . . . The Prophet 600. . . . . . great analog board As cheezy as this sounds, the Casio CZ 101 was always a fun little board to midi up to. I know Dave Smith instruments has reissued similar version of the Prophet, and other classic analog synths, but with upd...

Re: Anyone Know . . . .
Great, thanks for the input guys.
I'll need to check into that type of synth.
"The message" sounds like a unison patch with lots of thick osc layers, I wonder if that was multiple tracks or if it was just a single take.
Kewl sounding board for sure.

Anyone Know . . . .
What kind of synth was used on the "Pieces of Eight" album for the into piece "The message" just before lord of the rings. Google was useless in my search. Also, I was curious if anyone knows what RUSH used for that Brilliant intro on the 2112 album. I do know that the band mainly used Oberheim in ...
