Re: Dead AKAI S1100 repair

I have tried several simple fixes - and no it is not just PSU - So I am throwing in the towel. If it was a SUPER nice synth, I'd try harder.

Thanks for sharing!

Re: Dead AKAI S1100 repair

Hi there- I have the same problem atm - an akai s1100. I tried removing the PSU and using my bench PSU - I only get a blank screen - contrast does not function and there are no lights in any of the LED's of the front panel.

I could really use a schematic :)

Re: Casio CZ-1 – need of TLC

Got a CZ-1 - i think it needs a new screen, very dull. Have anyone done it? And my chorus is very faint, it is like when i engage it there is a drop in volume - even cranked up. Any one with similar behavior? Could it be standard behavior?

Re: Now I can play my cz101 at night...

I have a CZ-1 and i actually find the display quite dull. Is that normal behavior. Thinking of replacing it, but it is a bit different - backlight. Can i just use a standard HD-47780 compatible 16x2 LED backlight display?

Re: Custom-built multi-bank Roland M-256/M-512 memory cards

Also another idea: just to get over the 64 patch limit what about the internal multi bank memory? compared to the card research it will be simpler, however with this side effect that it still needs soldering for this upgrade. After that the memory banks are changed with keycombinations with 2..3 ke...

Re: Custom-built multi-bank Roland M-256/M-512 memory cards

Wow. It is really beautiful. I don't think it would be obvious by the look of it, I see a 256 inscription and a 512 inscription. At closer inspection it looks like either 4 x 256 banks, or 2 x 512 banks. And these are then ordered in 4 a/b/c/d banks.

Happy to supply interest.

Good work
