Re: Waldorf Streichfett

After having spent a fair bit of time with the two together, I think Streichfett does a reasonable emulation of the String Melody II: it's not perfect, the ensemble isn't quite right, but it's pretty close. Ey up indeed. ;) 'ow do! ;) Just come in from shovelling t' snow... Nice video, cheers for t...

Re: When Did Synthesizers Replace Live Orchestras?

Last year Camel made its comeback following Andy Latimer's recovery from serious, life-threatening illness. The band played The Snow Goose in its entirety: the last time they'd done that was at the Royal Albert Hall with the LSO. I doubt they have the following these days to pack somewhere like that...

The last I heard from mine was at the beginning of September saying they were expecting them in late September. Yeah, right

Re: Moog Sub 37

Thought I'd found somewhere with them in stock, so ordered last night. Got a phonecall this morning that it was a mistake on their website and they can't get hold of them at the moment, going to be at least six weeks, just like everyone else  The sales guy was suggesting that some of the larger...

Re: Waldorf Streichfett

thanks for doing that =D> Yeah, that was a good comparison The Logan sounds like a Streichfett run through a filter with high resonance. Quite interesting difference. Thanks for commenting here and on YT, glad it was useful 8-) Here's part 2. It's probably not as interesting as it just covers parap...

Re: Waldorf Streichfett

So, I finally got around to doing a comparison video at the beginning of the month and have now finally got around to finishing part 1 of the video (I couldn't keep the waffle below 15 minutes  ). After having spent a fair bit of time with the two together, I think Streichfett does a reasonabl...

Re: Waldorf Streichfett

I think the demo is awesome. It's free of drum machines and layers of other sounds, which is what a product demo SHOULD be like. Cheers 8-) Sure it's nice to hear the synth in a composition, but I always want to hear the gritty basics too. Yeah, plus other people will do a far better job, far quick...

Re: Waldorf Streichfett

@ Jorvik Good stuff! cheers for the demo ;) . Thanks, you're welcome. I was lucky to get mine quite early so I thought it was the least I could do – I've been scouring the web for weeks for news/vids of this and also of the Sub 37 so I know how it feels to be waiting for anyone, anywhere to post so...

Re: Waldorf Streichfett

Sounds really good. Is there some sort of filter action involved on the second (or was it third) preset? Is that coming from the right side? Unfortunately there's no easy way to dissect patches. That said, many of the sounds have filters on them and the choir sounds have formant filters that sound ...

Re: Waldorf Streichfett

You need to give us a quick demo! 8-) I'm sure everyone here is interested in how well it emulates 70s string machines... Not really a demo of how well it emulates them, just a run through the factory presets. 'Scuse the video weirdness (not a well-supported codec on Linux), low res (couldn't be bo...
