Re: AX-80 O.S. hacking co-op?

Firmware is working great for me so far. No bugs to report.

Midiquest will have an editor for the AX80, that's been sorted out and should be available to Midiquest owners in the next update.

If I create any interesting patches I'm happy to pass them along for a patch library.

Re: AX-80 O.S. hacking co-op?

Sysex info and a patch dump have been provided to Michael Lambie at Midiquest and I believe we will have an editor librarian profile for the updated AX80 soon. I already have Midiquest and am looking forward to having an editor librarian.

Re: AX-80 O.S. hacking co-op?

I've never done such a thing but once firmware with Sysex exists for the AX80 I can attempt mapping it to the generic profile in midiquest. It's supposed to be a straightforward process. I'm here as an interested AX80 owner, but am not in any way a programmer. I've wanted to assure the interest and ...

Re: AX-80 O.S. hacking co-op?

Midiquests generic profile should be able to be customized for a Sysex capable AX80 pretty easily.

Re: AX-80 O.S. hacking co-op?

I have recently acquired an ax80 and enjoy it. Programming firmware and such is way above my pay grade unfortunately. Being able to save patches via Sysex or do realtime control of filters, cutoff, and modulation though would make this a much more fantastically useful synth. I already like its gener...

Re: AX-80 O.S. hacking co-op?

If a decent amount of Sysex support in firmware is created then making the midiquest editor for it shouldn't be difficult. I'm certainly more interested in that at the moment than the business with the tape out.

Re: AX-80 O.S. hacking co-op?

I am hopeful that something comes of this. Nice Sysex control would be good for lots of reasons.

Re: AX-80 O.S. hacking co-op?

Just got an ax80 and I can't begin to say how much I'd love to see Sysex implemented in it. Hoping that this will turn into reality. Seems very doable. I suspect that getting an editor wouldn't be too hard either. Does midiquest offer any generic editor that could be customized for an ax80?

Re: interested in MOTU updating Unisyn so we get a synth lib

I am not saying I'm holing out a lot of hope for this, but besides myself, I am sure many folks would like to see this. Thought letting MOTU know would be a good first step. I figured I'd start by asking. Most folks just don't think that MOTU will do anything with Unisyn, and that feeling has also l...

interested in MOTU updating Unisyn so we get a synth librar

So, MOTU not only still lists Unisyn as one of their active products, but they are just porting their flagship software DP to windows for the first time. They are recoding things and changing their position in the marketplace. I was hoping that their companion product, Unisyn, would also get updated...
