Re: Jupiter 6 Vs Proph 08
A Prophet 600 with a P600FW kit installed, will dance circles around a Prophet 08.
As for comparing against a Jupiter 6, that becomes very subjective.
The Prophet 600 at that point sounds more "raw", whilst the Jupiter 600 (even with Europa mod) is more like "butter."

Re: Proof that Roland are indeed insane.
Like it or not, the jobbing keyboardist who does weddings, barmitzvas etc. is the one with the actual cash to buy a Roland. Unfortunately, composers of electronic music with the assumed artistic integrity usually don't have any money. Those of us who like to just make bleeps and bloops as a hobby a...

Re: Cleaning contacts on a Prophet600
I used non lint leaving q-tips. Wiped twice w/ isopropyl, then dried by hand with another q-tip. I also did a wipe down of the board surfaces.
Result was like new!
I would be concerned about using erasers on the pads....

Re: gear on or off?
If I'm not with my gear, it's off.
If I'm not near my synths, they aren't even plugged in to the switched off powerstrip.

Re: Good complient for Kawai SX-240?
The Roland JP-8000 / JP-8080 compliments a Kawai SX-240 rather well in many aspects you seek. Also SUPERSAW.

Have you been able to get this taken care of yet?
If not, although I am located in Ohio, we may be able to work something out.
Let me know...
Thanks!

Re: Jupiter 6 vs Jupiter 8 Envelopes
+1 to OP having an issue with programming, or his Jupiter 6 could be faulty. I have a Europa equipped JP-6 myself, and have no issues like that, other than when intentionally programming a patch to do so....

Re: Polishing keys
I have a K5000S and keys on it is common to turn yellow for some reason. I was experimenting with - automotive plastic headlight lens cleaner - and other mild abrasives like polishing compound on a damp cloth. I've been able to improve it somewhat but still yellow. But this is still something I can...
