Re: D550 LCD Nightmare

Thing is, the screws in question do not stick above the metal it attaches to: they are flat heads recessed in the metal. Therefore, vise grips are out of the question as they require the screw to be exposed. I also do not have a screw extractor, though I did manage to find another option: supergluin...

D550 LCD Nightmare

I had purchased a Roland D550 a few weeks ago with a dim LCD backlight thinking I could effectively replace the LCD, myself. How wrong I was. Those of you who've tried repairing your synths by way of disassembly, have you had that time when the screw is so tightly secured that you only succeeded in ...

Re: Digital Synsations from UVI !

Speaking as someone desperate for the D50 sound, I certainly hope it's a faithful emulation, unlike, say, EmulationTwo, which only ported a few EII samples, among other iffy things. The M1 recreation was not necessary, though: Korg themselves beat UVI to it with the Korg Legacy Collection VST's.

Soundtrack for possible TV Show

I have been involved with a project for some time led by a good friend of mine, and, with her permission, I'm sharing one piece relevant to her work. Emulator II and "Distorted Reality" users might recognize some of the sounds.

Re: The great thread of electronic/synthesizer soundtracks

First of all, sorry for yet another absence; been swamped with offline matters the past few months, and finals only finished as of last week. I'm happy I found such a thread at last, since I'm mostly into soundtracks over other genres of music. Micke, I noticed your current avatar is of Michael Myer...

Re: Synth examples, post them here.

Recently got a hold of the OMI discs for the EII and converted some samples for Kontakt.

Re: roland jv2080 & MKS50 advice

What Robonaut said when it comes to the 2080's sample rate. Speaking as another user, however, my experience suggests you don't need a MIDI librarian for that particular rackmount synthesizer, due largely to its large screen, which, then again, is shared with the 990 and the 5080.

Get an EII?

First of all, apologies for my long absence. Unfortunately, I got caught up with various things, both music projects and unrelated matters. Anyway, I have been doing music, as many can guess, but most of it is software-based, which sort of puts me at a disadvantage not only because it's harder for m...

Re: My Emulator favourites! (with download)

Thanks! Deeply appreciated. This will do for now, at least until/unless Q-Up-Arts converts the entire Universe of Sounds library.

Re: Prison of the Mind (an album)

Thank you for listening. It's very deeply appreciated.

I realize the cover makes it seem gloomier than most of the tracks are.

Re: Synth examples, post them here.

Many of you probably have watched this video before. It highlights samples of the Fairlight CMI Series III, focusing on sounds used in the Terminator 2 soundtrack.

It's my video. :)

Prison of the Mind (an album)

Had released this album last month. Due to lack of sales, I am sharing this here mostly for critiquing purposes.

You'll hear a lot of old-school synth sounds in this album.

Re: My Emulator favourites! (with download)

This is my first post, and bearing in mind that there seems to be no intro thread on this forum, either, please forgive me if my prescence seems sudden. Thank you very much for sharing this! It's really a shame that the Universe of Sounds samples are so hard to find, even on download sites. Will be ...
