Re: Synth for soundscapes ($600 and under)
Modular. What modular can you get that's good for soundscapes for under $600? :?: MFOS Sound Lab II or Sound Lab Ultimate if you can solder, and if you can't there are some already built on Ebay and Etsy. There's also the Pittsburgh Synthesizer Block for $300, Doepfer A-111-5 (Dark Energy module) f...

Re: Good FX pedals for my synths?
The Rogue Analog Delay sounds great and it's only $50. I also have a Behringer FX600, it has a few (mostly terrible) effects including a delay with infinite feedback that can get weird and glitchy if you're into that, and the tremolo sounds like a tremolo so I guess that's good too.

Re: The obsession for the Analog
I'll take this a step further; Buying a midi controller and relying completely on software doesn't make for a good musician. I thought the analog vs digital debate was all about sound. Now having expensive synths makes you a better musician? If you can't make great music with software synths...

Re: New analog boxes from Korg?
I think I might buy the Keys. I was thinking about buying a Microkorg or something, just because I want to be able to play more than one note, but I like knobs and the Keys looks interesting. 3 note polyphony doesn't bother me. The only problem I see is no way to get a square wave without ring mod. ...

Re: Brand new to synth and stuff
For a hardware synthesizer, the absolute most i could really spend would be $350. I'm sure there's not a ton of quality i could get for that price, but something decent and from the early '80s or that sounds of that time period (as that's when the majority of my favorite synth bands were from) woul...

Re: Korg Monotron 6? Huh?!?
http://i39.tinypic.com/9zn53o.jpg Can't believe I'm the first to post this. As mentioned on FB where I saw it, it's likely fake- six LFO's and six filters seems a little odd unless it's something like a Sequential Six-Trak where it's a six mono multitimbral deal. It looks a little basic and hacky. ...

Re: Korg MS-20 Mini
It's just a different scaling method essentially. Which is why the modular in that vid is out of tune when played by the MS. Just needs a converter, think Korg make one for the MS originally MS-02 it was - mabe a reissue is in order? http://www.cykong.com/Synths/Korg%20MS-02/Images/MS-02-Front.JPG ...

Re: Hybrid Synths - cheaper poly analog?
The question is what that'll do to the industry seeing as it would undercut DSI and Moog, and one would have to question spending money on a VA Nord or Virus when you can have a brand new TA (true analog) for thousands less. Of course there would have to be limitations such as no patch memory or sm...

I think the Micro Preset is the last synth Korg would reissue. Hopefully a Polysix will be next.
