Thanks -- but it would not have been possible without some external input (pun intended).

Re: Yamaha SY-1 expression pedal usable with CS50?
Mystery resolved -- thanks to all who contributed.
I measured the output voltage of the CS50's Pedal Controller output jack (roughly 15 volts), decided to bravely plug in the pedal, and voilà -- it works perfectly.
I'm a happy bunny today.

Re: Cool story maybe?
A friend of mine used to have a Jupiter 4, a Jupiter 6, and a Jupiter 8 which had survived a fire -- they were all charred, with molten knob caps, with molten plastic dripping from the Jupiter 8 down onto the Jupiter 6 -- and they were all still playable! Required a thorough cleaning and a bit of TL...

I'll have a spare voice board then. Or maybe two, if the price is right.

Re: Yamaha cs50
I strongly endorse trying the Kenton option first before gutting the instrument -- the lure of quick profit, I know.

Re: Yamaha cs50
Oh no ...😭 Why do you say so Because truth always hurts, and reality tends to bite back viciously. In Yamaha custom parts parts alone, it would easily be worth three or four times the price you paid for it. After all, more CS50s than I care to admit were cannibalised for parts to make their bigger ...

Re: Yamaha SY-1 expression pedal usable with CS50?
Hi again Stephen, I researched this further and I think it is compatible. The Cs series pedal takes - 15 V from the tip and powers a 24v light bulb; ( you need to confirm if it is -15V or 15V.) A photosensitive cell on the other side produces voltage depending on how much light passes through the h...

Re: Yamaha SY-1 expression pedal usable with CS50?
Ah, thanks... the forum is still alive :). The SY-1 pedal looks exactly like the one for the CS50 (or CS80) pictured above, hence my question. The only visible difference is that the hole through which the output cable is threaded was shifted to the left by about 1cm. It does not require an external...

A short documentary on the Stockhausen / WDR Studio, featuring Volker Müller and Holger Czukay / CAN.
It's all in German, no sub-titles. Apologies for that.

German Maestro GMP 400:

I've been using these and their predecessors -- the MB Quartphone 90 and 95 -- for the past 25 years now due to the rooms in which I record and mix. They have never let me down.

In case you enquired but have never received a response, I'm sorry to tell you that Volker Müller passed away in late February 2021, aged 78.

Yamaha SY-1 expression pedal usable with CS50?
Hi all, I have an original expression pedal for the SY-1 monosynth which covers all the duties the expression pedal for the CS50 would cover as well, and from peeking inside it seems as if the SY-1 pedal is technically the same as the pedal that came with the CS80 (photo-electric with external power...

Re: VP-330 "Human voice" synth recreation?
[...] Is it fair to assume that it's based on a very simple sound source (i.e. a sawtooth as with the strings sound) and like you say, multiple filters after that, to shape it into the end result? Exactly -- the VP-330 is based on some simple waveform like sawtooth or pulse-wave (I don't have the s...
