For the record its quite modular and easy. Ive opemned it up and found heaps of mouse kaka and the little &@^%#'s have stripped the insulation from sme of the wiring causing shorts. Hopefully Ill be able to sort it out.

My Roland sh-1000 was working fine but now is not...(I can hear at a very low level the random note generator) Theres also a bad smell...pee? and I suspect a mouse managed to squeeze in the back panel gap and die inside (maybe stepped on the 3rd rail). A late reply but I got them both. Really enjoying them. I have trouble syncing the 2080 to my sequencers midi clock for some sounds despite having done what I thought I needed to do in the settings. I guess Ill keep playing. The MKS-50 required me soldering in a new computer type battery and finding...

I've had an SH-1000 for a while now and enjoy it but more as a novelty I think. The sounds are great and very tweakable but what are you going to do with it? Currently I sequence stuff mostly midi and then record the audio of the sh1000 and then add those to the mix. Im not sure its worth getting it...

I still use an all midi setup, I just never got round to the newer software on PC's (that said Im playing with cubase5 LE for the first time and audio recording is cool ) I had a 1Mb ST which died. My friends Megas's monitor died so he dontated a mega 4 to me as I still had a working monitor (sm124)...

roland jv2080 & MKS50 advice

Hi there, Im going to check out 2 modules going quite cheap and could not resist. Its the Roland jv2080 & MKS50. I was wondering if there are software editors for the PC (preferably free :)) and if not can I access all the parameters from the lcd screen and buttons? I dont think Im going to get hold...
