Hmmph well.
I'm going with the MOTU 24i, MOTU 828 MKII, and multiport card. This will give me 24 INS. Mix it all down with digital performer.
Thanks for the input ya'll

Re: recommend audio interface for hardware synths
so this is the 1/4 jack input of the back of the FF 800. Something like this:
O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O
How then should I connect my L/R Stereo/Mono?
I must sound stupid but this is really confusing me.

Is it 1 ---> 1
2--->2
8 ---->8 and so on?

Re: recommend audio interface for hardware synths
+1 :P Its pricey but its nice. One more question: The synth input jacks in the back of the FF800 only have one hole? All of my synths have L/R stereo/mono jacks and currently they are hooked into a Mackie U420 with two cords each, one for L and one for R. Will the FF 800 make it necessary to buy all...

Re: recommend audio interface for hardware synths
Back to square one? After looking at all the specs on the Steinberg MR816X, its occured to me that the unit does not have 5 pin midi in and out ports. My Opcode Studio 128 arrived today. I think it would be best to buy a firewire digital interface with MIDI IN/OUT ports...this seems to be logical. I...

Re: recommend audio interface for hardware synths
Yea, I got to wandering about x.sum and started scratching my head. I am a total noob but I have and am getting some fantastic instruments to set up this rig. I plan to MIDI mod my JU60 too! Not sure whether I want to use the ESQ-1 as the controller or wait to get my hands on a Prophet 12. I agree, ...

Re: recommend audio interface for hardware synths
Thanks for the advice Kungfugeek. I am picking up what you are laying down. The sum board seems like a good solution combined with my opcode 64X midi patchbay and do you know anything about the SteinbergMR816X? I was told this was a good interface and since I am running vintage MIDI 5 pin synths, cu...

Re: recommend audio interface for hardware synths
What about Steinberg MR816X with opcode 64X?
Would this be a suitable setup for say maybe 5 to 8 synths?

Vintage Midi Synths :D
Hello! FNG here. I am wanting to get all my vintage synths firing over a Digital Audio Interface so I can compose with Cubase as well as play them and record this into my DAW (leaning towards Cubase) running on a MAC OS. So far here is my lineup: TR707 JUP6 Juno106 (X2) Juno60 (going to get it moded...
