Re: Heart/Brain of your setup?

The "brain" of my setup was my laptop (RIP 2010-2013) I will eventually replace it.
The heart of my music, though, is the inspiration I get from my wife of 22 years and she can never be replaced ;)

Re: What should each company make next?

VA's and modeling are getting better and the analog sound itself may just fall out of favor with pop producers I don't believe this analog revival of late has made it's way into the pop charts. Though to be honest, the only exposure I get to the top 40 s**t is when I'm in the car and the gf has con...

Re: Korg MS-20 Mini

The kid who works in the electronics department at Best Buy told me his uncle is the janitor for Korg's US distributor and he told him some guy at the factory stole all the yellow patch cables and is selling them on the black market. Unless Korg can source more yellow patch cables the MS-20 Mini wi...

Re: What should each company make next?

Roland- new analog poly for >$1k Korg- more feature-rich version of the monotribe w/MIDI. Yamaha- a new VA synth (or any type really) Waldorf- the pulse 2, since they apparently aren't  Moog- I'd like to see them try 'modernizing' another vintage electronic instrument. A portable compact Ondes...

Re: New Novation Bass Station?

regarding the filters.....can someone explain the difference between the moog-style 'ladder' LPF and the acid-style transistor LPF?
:?:
The most I know is that the ladder filter is an older design and the other is similar to a 303 obviously.

I am spoiled by the Jexus & Katsunori Ujiie YT demos.

i agree it's sound is mopho-like, but with that multimode filter I think I would seriously consider buying it over a mopho kb.

Re: New Novation Bass Station?

all kidding aside, the bass station 2 sounds a bit generic to my ears. Hmmm, "generic" - is that a good or a bad thing in your opinion? I think a better word for what I meant was 'basic'. I don't believe the BS2 has a defining/unique feature (or you could say gimmick) sonically like almost every ot...

connectivity question regarding monotrons

my question is this: could one use the monotron as an external analog standalone filter if they were to purchase 1/4 in to 1/8 in stereo signal adapters?
