Re: DIY Custom Hard Cases, where to start?
I built this speaker cabinet with only a circular saw, a drill, and a few random hand tools. http://i.imgur.com/DT1WqtF.jpg and a LOT of wood putty. http://i.imgur.com/49F0cJC.jpg I bought the hardware from Antique Electronic Supply; https://www.tubesandmore.com/products/amplifier_parts_0...

Re: Yamaha Reface
At first glance I thought Yamaha might be targeting my demographic, namely people who've owned their products in the past (SK-30, CP-35, YC-20) and were hoping for slightly more portable versions. 37 mini keys kills that thought. Yes, i could use a separate MIDI board, but why? Why not a 61-key cont...

I'll just keep buying old ones. everything I have is pre-MIDI (except my Casio)

Re: Your opinion: Best all around gigging synth
Casio XW-P1 is what I gig with.
the organ and synth sounds are really good.
the piano & clavinet, not so much, but they're tolerable.
if your friend doesn't have a real clavinet/piano at home he won't know the difference.

Re: What synth should I buy for funk and prog?
it's actually really good, especially when you consider the price. I gig with mine all the time, and leave the vintage stuff at home where it's safe.

just the kind of nonsense I would expect from someone who owns a RMI 300A.V301H wrote:Casio XW-P1 is a complex VA Synth with a separate Tonewheel Organ section.

I find my Hohner Clavinet/Pianet Duo works well for both funk and prog.

Re: Greetings From Yamaha USA Pro Music Customer Support
here's the thing Bob, you need to come in here as yourself, not as a corporate entity. Then tell us who you work for, and why you've decided to join us in here. I know it's hard out there, and you need to ask around about what people want in a synth, but there are no easy answers in here either. als...

Re: Greetings From Yamaha USA Pro Music Customer Support
I'm sorry, but I think you're in the wrong forum. http://forums.musicplayer.com/ubbthreads.php/ubb/postlist/Board/18/page/1 here you go, it's got plenty of sad, bitter old men that play in classic rock cover bands and/or jazz combos. either way, they haven't added any new material to their repertoir...
